Responsibilities

The candidate for the Training Development Manager position will lead a team of design and development professionals and contractors focused on creating innovative and experiential learning solutions in the area of sales, product knowledge, and systems with a laser focus on creating a strong customer experience.  The manager plays an integral part in transforming our business by leading projects and programs tied to revenue growth, margin expansion and improved customer engagement.

  • Build partnerships with business leaders and client groups to understand their short and long term business objectives and consult on training needs
  • Be responsible for setting direction, creating structures, streamlining processes, and influencing team behaviors that support effective and efficient execution of training programs
  • Align training resources to support the achievement of objectives
  • Ensure expert design and development of innovative learning solutions
  • Develop, mentor and coach developer resources
  • Have a proven track record of managing a team of developers who have created innovative, high-impact learning solutions
  • Guide team to develop and execute on program strategies which include multimedia online resources and materials, use of social media platforms, and the creation of experiential learning solutions across multiple client organizations ensuring genuine learner engagement
  • Know all aspects of the instructional development process (analysis, design, development, execution and evaluation)
  • Be able to use multimedia technology and authoring tools
  • Evaluate existing training programs and methodologies to implement and transform content for increased engagement and efficiencies while improving performance goals
  • Track and share appropriate metrics on quality and effectiveness of learning solutions

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's required in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrated proficiency in designing, building and deploying instructor and e-learning modules
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience managing a team
  • Strong planning and problem-solving skills and a successful track record of consultation and collaboration with business partners at all levels
  • Solid strategic thinker who can execute on innovative ideas
  • Ability to create momentum and inspire others
  • Previous experience developing and mentoring a high performing team
  • Sound judgment and decision making, critical thinking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and professional speaking skills
  • Demonstrates energy, flexibility, creativity, and being a team player
  • Strong attention to detail, deadline driven and able to handle multiple projects from inception through execution

 

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Masters Degree in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience using a variety of design technology such as multimedia, video, gamification
