What you'll be doing...

The Hardware User Acceptance Test Engineer will join the Verizon Connect Hardware Product Team and is responsible for manual end-to-end user acceptance testing of changes to the Verizon Connect telematics hardware platform. The position will require the development of test suites and cases, executing test runs, and analyzing and reporting of test results as they pertain to the Verizon Connect hardware product portfolio. Troubleshooting field issues and developing root cause analysis are additional tasks assigned to this position.


  • Develop test plans, suites and cases for executing on changes to hardware firmware and platform server based changes.
  • Execute test runs against changed firmware and server code.
  • Evaluate test results and communicate risks to management prior to firmware or software release.
  • Document defects found in the software in a defect tracking system.
  • Test hardware, software and firmware solutions by performing in-vehicle drive tests, reviewing data created by the drive test and following data throughout the platform, SaaS product and reports created from the software.
  • Troubleshoot and document issues with solutions already in the field.
  • Learn and understand the Telogis software platform and suite of product offerings to assist with new hardware, software and firmware solutions.
  • Participate in daily meetings with development and QA teams.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • BA/BS or equivalent years of experience is required.
  • 3+ year experience testing hardware, software and firmware solutions.
  • 3+ year experience with SaaS software and integrated firmware solutions
  • 1+ year experience developing test plans, test suites and test cases and recording them in a test case management system.

Even better if you have:

  • 3+ year experience with software testing best practices and defect reporting through resolution.
  • 1+ year experience with telematics and wireless GPS systems is a plus.
  • 3+ year experience with testing SaaS products on mobile devices is a plus.
  • SQL and data mining experience is a plus.
