The Strategy and Corporate Development Consultant II is a critical member of a small, nimble team that supports Verizon Connect’s strategy development, M&A, and related strategic initiatives. You will primarily contribute to the research, analysis, modeling and coordination of potential acquisitions and strategy projects that will have a transformative impact on the business.

As an integral part of the team, you will work closely with the broader Verizon Connect Strategy group. You will interact daily with a wide range of functional teams, have direct interaction with Verizon Connect’s senior management, and, on occasion, interface with related functions across the broader Verizon organization.

Examples of activities that you will contribute to include:
•Corporate strategy development including, business case creation for strategic initiatives, market research, and analysis
•New product/segment identification based on customer trends, competitive response, industry forecasts and market analyses
•Industry news and trend monitoring
•The full cycle of corporate development activities, including opportunity targeting and evaluation, primary / confirmatory due diligence, deal execution, and cross-functional integration
•Financial modeling, analysis and budgeting
•Presentation development for executive & board-level communication
•Project work plans and coordination with internal and external constituencies
•Indirectly supporting the development of junior team members

What we’re looking for...

Critical skills
•Bachelor’s degree from top university and demonstrated academic excellence
•Ideally five years’ experience at a leading consulting firm, investment bank, private equity / VC firm, or a strategic function in a technology company
•Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and Gsuite skills
•Superior oral and written communication skills
•Strong financial, analytical and valuation skills, including extensive financial modeling experience
•Interest and / or previous experience in the software industry a plus
