What you’ll be doing...

The USARC Strategy and Plans Organization led by the CIO of the US Army Reserve Command is seeking Senior Security Architect support. This support will reside at Ft Bragg and work in tandem with the government on their Mission requirements.

You will perform tasks that support the defense of Army networks from internal and external threats. You will be assisting in the successful tactical and strategic positioning of the Army command with regard to optimal use of firewalls, scanning, and forensic analysis and other tools as directed. You will also provide guidance to the USAR within the full spectrum of Information Assurance processes to ensure the defense and protection of all government and DoD information systems. You will recommend best practices for Enterprise Security Architect Strategies, policies, processes and procedures and support the Government with Enterprise Security Architect implementation and provide assistance with planning, analysis, recommendations, and, where necessary, implementation of the "best practices" and most "cost effective" methodologies of both premise and cloud computing.

You will assist the Government in creating an atmosphere of Enterprise Security Architect innovation and creativity, focused on identifying and publicizing best practices, tactics, techniques, and procedures, and lesson learned. You will also have the responsibility to ensure that new or changed IT services and their supporting infrastructure are adequately approved, validated and accepted by the Government for successful delivery and operations. Specific area of support focuses on developing a thorough understanding of the USAR mission and requirements, identifying capability gaps (both technical and procedural) and using knowledge of and relationships with COTS and GOTS products and vendors to develop a CONOP and mission plan to sustain current operational readiness and a comprehensive architectural roadmap (e.g., 5-yr plan). You will directly support the design of an enterprise security architecture that promotes visibility, timely alerting, optimal design, and advanced threat protection from internal and external adversaries, which adheres to and is logically supported by the RMF and security best practices, delivering fully integrated Cybersecurity solutions in a hybrid premise/cloud environment.

  • Securing enterprise information by determining security requirements.
  • Planning and overseeing the testing and implementation.
  • Preparing security standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Reviewing current system security measures, and recommending and implementing enhancements.
  • Ensuring the architecture enables the continuous monitoring of network security.
  • Developing project timelines for ongoing system upgrades and security initiatives.
  • Cultivating a culture of security awareness and arranging continuing education of personnel to ensure security policies are adhered to at all times.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • CISSP certification and strong knowledge of cybersecurity product landscape, tools, techniques, and evolving trends.
  • Strong management experience, particularly with plan and resource management, concept development and organizational skills in building support and fostering a team environment to achieve the desired outcome.
  • Experience implementing security technologies for the DoD at an enterprise level.
  • Experience with RMF and knowledge of DoD policies.
  • Ability to interact with a broad cross-section of personnel to explain and enforce security measures.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, with the capability to present and communicate to both superiors and peers.
  • Excellent organization skills, and experience building, updating, and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Experience analyzing and/or coordinating the analysis of security capabilities of existing (currently deployed) Cyber tools as well as targets for acquisition that meet the requirement of the overall plan.
