FP&A Center of Excellence Team

Reshaping the future of FP&A at Verizon, calls for improving our ability to deliver exceptional value to our customers. Being a part of the Center of Excellence (COE) team you will work alongside financial professionals and business leaders, gaining opportunities to grow and develop to build a strong FP&A foundation. You will be involved in, target setting, reporting & analysis, planning and forecasting, and guiding the strategic direction across Verizon. Explore the breadth of opportunities that come with aligning your expertise with the future of superior networks, systems, analytics and video, to improve the way people live work and play.

  • Developing meaningful, cross-functional business partnerships.
  • Ensuring fact-based decision making by proliferating your functional expertise across the Hyperion suite of applications to the worldwide user community.
  • Driving real-time, actionable information by leveraging your data visualization proficiency throughout the organization.
  • Working closely with the user constituents to evolve the FP&A ecosystem by delivering cogent business requirements for new system updates consistent with Financial Systems Group (FSG) processes and frameworks.
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
  • Generating implementation plans to ensure robust system (tools & processes) improvements and validations with FSG.
  • Finalizing and implementing all training materials of implemented processes and/or systems for the customer(s).
  • Developing and executing training sessions for internal customer(s) to drive optimal utilization of new system changes.
  • Coordinating user acceptance testing (UAT) and collaborating with FSG to confirm results and resolve discrepancies.
  • Facilitating post-mortem assessment to drive continuous improvement and incorporating results into Business Process and System Improvement best practices.
  • Identify business processes and systems improvements in collaboration with Corporate, Business Unit, Corporate Shared Services and/or Service Delivery teams.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Finance, Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Science or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with the Hyperion suite of applications including Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, and Hyperion Strategic Finance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Access and Excel.
  • Experience with programming, coding, and scripting.

Even better if you have:

  • Master's degree in Math, Finance, Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or Information Science .
  • Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry.
  • A Six Sigma certification (or are in process of getting certification).
  • Advanced knowledge of process and business systems improvements and implementation.
  • Knowledge in the usage of OBIEE, Qlik, Tableau, SQL and/or similar tools.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills and proven ability to focus on the details.
  • A demonstrated capability to develop strong cross-functional relationships.
