What you’ll be doing...

Our projects can get complicated and have lots of moving parts. That’s where you come in. You will ensure that we manage our commitments and organize our work in a way that creates timely, and effective solutions for our customers. No day will be the same as you coordinate projects, do research, create reports and work with outside vendors and contractors. Your role is key to the daily work of the departments you support running smoothly and effectively.

  • Working on department projects including compiling and analyzing data, creating reports and managing policies and procedures.
  • Serving as a point of contact for outside vendors and contractors to ensure we meet shipping and installation commitments.
  • Providing project support by managing schedules, equipment and resources to meet deadlines.
  • Managing procurement activities by analyzing requests, requesting authorization of funds, writing purchase orders and ensuring compliance with policies.
  • Maintaining budgets, capital spending plans and reconciling transactions.
  • Managing the integrity of all equipment inventories by maintaining 98% (or better) accuracy levels on all audits by location including cell sites, switches, spares, technician vehicles, on-call kits. Performing audits for the switches, switch spares. Performing scanning of equipment tracked for inventory. Processing inventory transfers, adjustments and purchase order receipts for all switch equipment activity.
  • Maintaining physical inventory transfers within departments and our inventory management process.
  • Processing repairs and returns, which includes the gathering, packing, shipping and receiving of RMA equipment and its accurate location tracking using inventory software.
  • Logging all incoming and outgoing parts and resolving all issues in a timely manner.
  • Communicating effectively with warehouse personnel, technicians and Engineers for all equipment movement and returns.
  • Running and analyzing weekly/monthly reports and strive to meet regional and area KPIs for inventory management and audits.
  • Recommending and implementing process improvements for increased efficiencies and accuracy levels.
  • Developing and maintaining Standard Operating Processes and Procedures for management of Regional and Area Inventory.
  • Overseeing/performing accurate and timely cycle counts on Cell site, MSC, spares, staging facility and vehicle storage locations to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Working with various vendors to expedite repair and replacement components to accomplish network repairs in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring appropriate levels of equipment spares are maintained per network engineering and vendor recommendations.
  • Working with Midwest Area, Regional Coordinators, and Staging Facility to reduce inventory of obsolete equipment.
  • Maintaining detailed documentation and track RMA process.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Inventory and Fixed Asset Modules.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • Basic understanding of accounting and inventory control principles.
  • Demonstrated effective time management skills, ability to work independently and make decisions within the guidelines of Verizon Wireless business standards.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to quality and the motivation and proven ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook (Microsoft Office Suit).
  • Demonstrated ability to be organized and proven capability to work independently, multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to meet daily goals and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Inventory experience.
  • Knowledge of wireless industry products and services.
  • Proficiency in Fulcrum CATS and Fixed Asset Modules.
  • Wireless scanning experience.
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 lb. unassisted and use basic hand tools.
