What you’ll be doing...

Associate Director, Revenue Accounting is responsible for delivery (quality & timeliness) of wireline revenue, wireless roaming revenue and expense, and wireless reseller and other revenue accounting (annual revenue $35B). This leader not only oversees the day to day operations but also thinks and acts strategically. This change agent will lead and ensure successful adoption of change and digital transformation projects. These projects include people, process and system aspects, as well as acquisitions and divestitures.

This leader will focus on supporting our stakeholders, maintaining controls, pushing us forward in our journey to one ERP and driving process improvements to help speed our digital finance evolution. This role will be responsible for leading a team of 32 professionals, including 3 Senior Managers. This position reports to the Director, Revenue Accounting.

  • Oversees the accounting processes, controls and systems, to ensure financial results are accurate and in compliance with GAAP for wireline revenue, wireless roaming revenue and expense, wireless reseller and other revenue.
  • Ensures delivery of a timely and accurate monthly close, including disclosure schedules required for quarterly and annual SEC filings.
  • Ensures all process are completed in adherence with SOX controls and the adequacy of those controls as the business and processes change over time.
  • Partners with external auditors to ensure timely completion of quarterly and annual audits.
  • Analyzes and articulates revenue results.
  • Supports the business unit financial and operational objectives by building relationships, providing financial and accounting guidance to the business, and supporting product profitability through linkage to accounting results.
  • Supports new product offerings that span across segments.
  • Identifies and drives process improvement opportunities and implements digital finance solutions.
  • Responsible for supporting our conversion to one ERP as the lead for revenue accounting.
  • Lead revenue role for acquisition, divestitures & implementations.
  • Responsible for talent development of professionals.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills, ability to collaborate across various functions including identifying best practices, and delivering successful cross functional initiatives.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • CPA certification or in the process of achieving the CPA certification.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and applications including SAP, PeopleSoft, CPM/Essbase, Hyperion Financial Management, and Blackline.
  • Knowledge of FASB and SEC requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, tax reporting and accounting practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Even better if you have:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or relevant.
  • Eight or more years of directly related experience.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Good team, organizational planning skills, sound judgment, calm but work with a high sense of urgency, attention to detail and strong time management.
  • Experience in the technology or telecommunications industry.
