What you’ll be doing...

This role will lead a team of Risk Analysts who work with various project teams to ensure compliance with corporate polices, standards, and practices as part of Verizon Wireless Network Security Risk Management. You will reduce technical risk in the Company’s networks, mobile devices, services and other products by integrating security measures into the development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in threat analysis, risk evaluation, security methodology and countermeasures, more specifically the following:

  • Employ industry-standard technical risk evaluation skills and techniques to promote the most cost effective and balanced security controls which adequately safeguard the Company, its customers, sensitive assets, and brand reputation.
  • Create or co-develop processes, procedures, other supporting documentation, and solutions that promote compliance and reduce risk.
  • Contribute as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a broad range of security topics.
  • Provide and communicate solutions for security issues to senior management.
  • Ensure reporting and KPIs are timely and properly presented to senior management.
  • Research new techniques and technologies that yield cost-effective controls.
  • Perform administrative functions to ensure all projects and vulnerabilities are accurately documented and remediated timely.
  • Continually coach and mentor individual contributors to foster optimal performance.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • 5+ years of technical security, risk/threat analysis and evaluation, control mitigation and gap remediation experience.
  • Experience managing remote team members.
  • Security certifications: CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC.
  • Experience in analyzing security threats and implementing security solutions for wireless carrier/telecom systems.
  • Experience in working with penetration testing vendors.
  • Grasp of fundamental defensive security constructs, including digital signatures, symmetric and asymmetric encryption, firewalls, PKI, key entropy, software protection mechanisms, DRM and mobile application/OS security.
  • Understanding of fundamental proactive security techniques, including reverse engineering, digital forgery, encryption attacks, MITM attacks, logic flaws and preventive controls vs. detective.
  • Ability to communicate well in both verbal and written forms.
  • Proven leadership ability and good negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and demonstrate well developed organization skills.
