Verizon Connect is looking for an IAM Sr Security Engineer to help in the build and operations of the Enterprise level IAM solution.
As our Identity and Access Management (IAM) Sr Engineer, you will use extensive knowledge of the IAM field along with your hands-on development expertise to help implement and mature a business-focused IAM strategic roadmap. This role will be part of a fast-paced team that is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining security technology roadmaps. Which provide an effective security framework, and allow the company to move rapidly, yet securely, toward achieving business goals.


  • Development, implementation and successful operationalization of Enterprise IAM Tools.
  • Resolves technical issues in the IAM Platform. Performs problem tracking, diagnosis and root-cause analysis, replication, troubleshooting, and resolution for moderately complex issues.
  • Assist in determining threats; identify risks and vulnerabilities to the organization, and direct corrective actions.
  • Participate in design, code, and test Inspections throughout product life cycle to contribute technical expertise and to identify issues. Presents technical status and issues at milestone reviews.
  • Provide L3/L4 technical support to operations team as required.
  • Works under moderate supervision. Works independently in response to general work direction.
  • Develop and test code to deliver functionality that meets the overall business strategy and objectives.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • 3-4 years of experience in a related Identity and Access Management role required. Experience with Okta, Saviynt and ForgeRock required.
  • 3-4 years of experience with LDAP/Directory Services technologies required. Experience with Ping Directory required.
  • Strong knowledge of directory services, Identity and access management technologies.
  • Experience with the delivery and support of single sign on (SAML and WS-Federation)
  • Working experience with Rest Web services, SSO/Federation architectures and other authentication/authorization protocols.
  • Working knowledge on IAM concepts such as identity management, provisioning, authentication, authorization, certification/governance, monitoring, role mining along with experience in security best practices.
  • Exposure to open standards development including XML, XSLT, SOAP, REST, AJAX, and Java/J2EE preferred.
  • Able to solve common design and development problems.
  • Able to apply critical thinking and interpersonal skills.

Even better if you have:

  • CISSP, SANS, and other security related certifications a plus.
  • Experience in cloud Identity Management is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud security is a plus.
