What you’ll be doing…

We have an immediate need for a Supervisor of EMEA Network Operations. This role leads a team of IT professionals responsible for the design, management and implementation of critical business-facing networks and telephony systems. The role requires knowledge of enterprise networking technologies and related industry leading solutions along with strong leadership, troubleshooting, critical thinking and analytical skills.


  • Provide vision, communication and leadership to a team of IT professionals
  • Supervise a team responsible for design, implementation and management of a wide range of network technologies specified below
  • Set goals, establish/communicate strategy, maintain accountability, inspire and motivate and establish/monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for a team of IT professionals
  • Manage, design and develop scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures to meet business objectives and SLAs.
  • Identify, diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software and connectivity issues reported by the business
  • Coordinate and work together with other members of technology staff on multiple concurrent cross-functional initiatives and projects
  • Manage all aspects of Verizon Telematics network, including switching, routing, firewall administration, and the enforcement of security policies, standards guidelines and procedures
  • Proactivity and continuously monitor the health of all Verizon Telematics networks (LAN/WLAN/WAN/VPN/MPLS), security devices, power sources, Telco gear, DIA, voice circuits, bandwidth utilization, physical and virtual appliances as well as all supporting infrastructure to ensure continuous and uninterrupted availability of resources critical to the operational needs of the business.
  • Participate in conducting vulnerability testing, penetration analyses and security audits of network perimeter and internal network to ensure the availability, confidentiality and integrity of all Verizon Telematics internal and external services.
  • Respond rapidly to system outages, alerts and or any interruption in system services globally on an as needed basis to maintain the highest level of availability possible. SLA / Uptime > 99%)
  • Responsible for the acquisition, configuration, implementation, administration and capacity planning of all Infrastructure components within our global footprint.
  • Monitor network performance, application protocol usage and traffic patterns to ensure a predictable level of network performance
  • Assist in the procurement and delivery of new Internet and voice circuits both in the EU and abroad

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • 5+ years relevant work experience supporting and maintaining highly available enterprise network environments.
  • 2+ years in a leadership role, leading a group responsible for complex network technology and services adhering to industry best practices in architecture and ITIL-based service delivery
  • Hands-on experience with redundant IP switching and routing architectures (802.1Q, 802.1d/loop prevention methodologies/LACP/Trunking, static/dynamic Routing/QoS/VoIP and associated technologies and protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with multi-vendor firewalls, security appliances, applications and terminology (Cisco/SonicWALL/HP/Palo Alto/IDS/IPS/ACL’s/NAT policies/Security Zones/DPI/SPI/MFA/IDM etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with supporting VoIP and SIP based telephony solutions, SBC’s/Adtran/Sonus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced level understanding of network/internet protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, IPSEC, VPN, VoIP, SIP, SNMP, SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS, MPLS, BGP etc.)
  • Ability to lift equipment approx. 50lbs


Even better if you have:

  • 5+ years in a leadership role, leading a group responsible for complex network technology and services adhering to industry best practices in architecture and ITIL-based service delivery
  • Implementation level knowledge and exposure to highly available Hypervisor based clustered environments and associated technologies and concepts (Hyper–V, vSphere, NIC teaming/bonding, SANs, disk subsystems, RAID groups, storage pools, LUN management)
  • Exposure to one or more scripting languages.
  • Analytical problem solver, detail oriented
  • Comfortable in a time-sensitive, project driven, team based environment
  • Exceptional analytical, inter-personal, troubleshooting and presentation skills
  • Ability to rapidly grasp, comprehend and retain information related to new technologies
  • Detail oriented and SLA sensitive person who works independently or in a team environment
