What you’ll be doing...

Our network engineering team keeps us ahead of the competition. As an RF Engineer, you’ll be redesigning mature network areas to minimize capacity constraints and improve SINR while working with other areas of network to ensure performance fixes and initiatives are in place. You’ll play a key role in making sure our customers continue to enjoy the crystal-clear connections and top-notch call performance that we’re known for.

  • Being the In-Building solutions subject matter expert for the assigned area.
  • Performing on and off site evaluation, designing and optimizing of in-building systems ranging in size and scope.
  • Partnering with sales teams to find solutions that fit the customers’ needs and aligning with Verizon Wireless (VZW) goals and direction.
  • Ensuring smooth integration of new services and technologies into the network.
  • Working with a team of RF and performance engineers to monitor, analyze and optimize IB systems.
  • Working with Performance/Engineering/Operation teams to identify and correct issues that negatively impact our customers.
  • Ensuring system performance objectives on network performance and baseline performance are achieved.
  • Working with Network Assurance, Sales & the NRB to provide timely analysis and resolution of customer problems.
  • Developing detailed knowledge of LTE and utilize this knowledge to guide the region towards making correct decisions as we deploy and optimize LTE across multiple carriers and platforms.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in RF design and optimization.
  • Knowledge of DAS systems, design and optimization.
  • Experience with In-Building design and monitoring.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science. Ideally, your Master’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of RF theory and practice.
  • Knowledge of LTE, including VoLTE and RAN Networks.
  • Knowledge of SQL scripting or VB Scripting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including VB macro creation and worksheet manipulation.
  • Experience with tools, such as Atoll, IbWave, RTT and ELPT.
  • A strong understanding of RF propagation theory.
  • A strong working knowledge of the MS Suite. You will be using Excel, Project, Visio, PowerPoint, and OneNote daily.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and a willingness to change. The DAS environment changes dramatically year over year and adaptability will be needed to keep designs relevant to each reiteration.
  • Wireless network design certifications.
  • Carrier experience in a Network Optimization context.
  • Source radio experience.
  • Experience and Certification on DAS OEM platforms.
  • Demonstrated a positive “Can Do” attitude with the ability to be a team player.
  • Wireless experience in a System Performance context.
  • Wifi, LAA and CBRS knowledge.
  • Ericsson System and OSS experience.
  • Expert level knowledge of IB Design and Optimization preferably for LTE.
  • Strong data analytics skills with MS Excel programming,
  • Knowledge of 3GPP LTE standards.
  • Knowledge of IP and transport protocols.
  • Capability to work well with colleagues and with various departments (Territory and HQ Network, Network Assurance, Network Engineering, Maintenance Engineering) and vendors to implement changes and troubleshoot.
