What you’ll be doing...

Verizon Business Markets (VBM) is a newly created strategic business unit within Operations, to serve the wireline communications and networking technology needs of U.S.-based small and medium businesses, as well as the state and local government bodies. The Digital organization within IT will be focused on enabling an eco-system that hones in on digitizing the customer experience through technology with a Cloud-first and Mobile-first tenet, backed by analytics to enable new products, directional product bundles, and third-party solution – all to enable new revenue streams.

The Salesforce Technical Solutions Architect is responsible for identifying, defining, and driving functional and technical strategy and solutions to support complex business process and enterprise architecture requirements.The incumbent will be expected to work with a cross-functional group of architects both from the products and other business units to work on solutions that span the customer lifecycle across product lines.

The incumbent would bring hands-on experience in applying best practices, managing stakeholder expectations, collaboration of solution approaches, and positioning implementations for ongoing success. They would also be comfortable pitching solutions and gaining the buy-in from the various teams including senior leaders. The Architect leverages  their deep Salesforce and Vlocity expertise, product and platform knowledge and enterprise level software development experience to ensure project delivery success and overall stakeholder satisfaction.

The Salesforce Technical Solutions Architect will also pay a critical role in building out a fully digital, mobile-first, omnichannel experience. The incumbent will have a good understanding of the customer journey across all phases of the lifecycle and will be critical in architecting solutions that span the end-to-end picture to provide for an exceptional customer experience.

  • Architect and design technical solutions for business problems using Salesforce and Vlocity technology platform.
  • Work with security architects, risk and network security to find solutions that work with the Salesforce platform providing secure solutions.
  • Provide direction on solutions that provide for out of the box solutions for the Digital team, end-to-end architecture team & Salesforce development team.
  • Work with vendor and implementation team to ensure that the product feature set is architected to ensure a complete digital experience.
  • Negotiate features for the roadmap for both Salesforce and Vlocity and reduce costs with customization by participating in the advisory boards for both Salesforce and Vlocity.
  • Provide direction to both Sales and Service teams to help build out processes that solve for a fully digital experience. Provide direction to optimize business processes on the sales and service side and work with business leaders to influence their processes to work with industry standard guidelines and products.
  • Provide direction to the Marketing and Digital teams to help build out the online self-service experience to provide for digital first, best in class customer experience.
  • Technical Design and development of architecture and design blueprints.
  • Architect identity management solutions for both the customer and employees working with solutions architects experts that work with the Salesforce and Vlocity platforms.
  • Architect solutions for the data analytics and Einstein platforms, both discovery and wave and provide direction for both the business and technical teams to develop a solution.
  • Be a visionary partnering with Architects, technical leads and key individuals within our functional organization and recommend SFDC Platform improvement.
  • Ensure business systems security and compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Have exceptional salesforce knowledge and bring in best practices. And be able to work cross functionally, while evangelizing Salesforce and discovering business needs.
  • Architecture Reviews.
  • Work with teams to develop proof of concepts.
  • Present potential solutions to Business leaders to get buy in and negotiate feature functions that are viable solutions to them.
  • Executive Presentations to CIO and Business Unit Leaders on Technology Capabilities and enabling business value.
  • Industry Level participation, contribution and collection of best practices.
  • Product evaluations for build versus buy decisions as needed.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • Service and Sales Cloud implementation experience using Live Agent, Omni Channel, CTI Adapters.
  • Experience with Vlocity managed package for the Omniscript, cards and telecom data layout architecture.
  • Development using VisualForce, APEX, triggers, Classes, Java Script, Lightning API.
  • Background with architecture concepts (integration styles, architecture styles, patterns).
  • Salesforce Certified System Architect certification.
  • Knowledgeable in ETL tools like Informatica, and integration tools like Web methods.
  • Profound knowledge of data management including Data Capture, Segmentation Storage and security.
  • Strategic thinker with extensive experience working on Solutions Architecture in Digital, and Omnichannel areas.
  • Good understanding of Customer Journey Experience and Analytics.
  • Hands-on experience building Lightning Components.
  • Understanding of key SFDC architectural concepts and how they influence design.
  • Overall understanding of Digital strategy and ability to map out the same for the enterprise.
  • Deep working knowledge of Cloud (AWS preferred) and understanding of DevSecOps.
  • ITIL and other similar certification.
  • Force.com platform experience, including the limitation of the platform (e.g. API and governor limits).
  • Salesforce community development.
  • 10+ years of experience in global software development and deployment.
  • 5+ years of experience delivering applications on Salesforce platform.
  • Application monitoring tools, log analytical tools, security tools (Dynatrace, Splunk, Apigee, GitHub, Jenkins).
  • Proven ability to manage and resolve complex and ambiguous technical issues.
  • Creativity & Critical Thinking.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
