What you’ll be doing...

This position will report into the Manager of the Priority Telecommunications Services Program Management Office in support of the Department of Homeland Security / Office of Emergency Communications and be located in Richardson, Texas. The scope of the position will manage a cross functional team with overall Program Management responsibility for Government Emergency Telecommunications Service (GETS) and Wireless Priority Service (WPS).

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Managing a large team of employees and contractors located in multiple states and across several disciplines

  • Own responsibility for all Verizon programs and projects supporting DHS/OEC and serve as primary customer contact

  • Collaborate with DHS/OEC administrative and technical staff

  • Plan and distribute work assignments

  • Develop employees through training, coaching & counseling

  • Set objectives and manage the performance to meet the objectives

  • Drives customer solutions

  • Vendor relationship management

  • Interfaces directly with Verizon senior leaders to properly address complex customer requests

  • Perform risk assessments and develop strategic plans to mitigate the risk

  • Monitor support response in regards to Service Level Agreements (SLA) and conduct periodic performance review meetings

  • Have demonstrated excellent client & organizational, common and process skills

  • Excellent presentation and communications skills

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or six plus years of relative work experience.

  • Six or more years of Priority Telecommunications and PSTN experience.

  • Six or more years of management/ supervisory experience.

  • Active Government Secret Clearance.

Even better, if you have:

  • 15or more years of professional relative experience in Priority Services and/or Masters degree (MBA preferred).

  • 10or more years of relevant management/supervisory experience.

  • Significant experience following Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodologies.

  • A working knowledge of:

  • SELC Process

  • Wireless Networking

  • Wireline Networking

  • Business Intelligence (BI)

  • Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet)
