What you’ll be doing...

Customers expect our networks to perform at a high level all the time. That’s where you come in. You will investigate, evaluate and resolve core network performance issues to ensure optimal and reliable service for our customers. The work you’ll be doing will directly impact customer satisfaction and help keep us ahead of the competition.

  • Working with 1X/3G/4G architecture and troubleshooting KPI degradation.
  • Understanding of the 5G ICL/5G NR architecture and troubleshooting issues linked to core element.
  • Performance monitoring of EPC Core elements such as the PGW, SaEGW, MME, MX960’s, EBH Routers, and Voice elements such as SR/SBC and MRFP’s.
  • Supporting project link to eNSE architecture and VCPE architecture which would host the Virtual EPC element network functions.
  • Working with Cell Site Router and EBH monitoring.
  • Identifying and resolving LTE and VoLTE core performance issues through detailed PCAP packet analysis.
  • Monitoring support during outages and mission critical network changes.
  • Interacting/Collaborating with Device Technology/Network Planning/RAN/NNO/HQ & Territory data performance/Maintenance engineering to provide support or data issue investigation.
  • The work sometimes require to be supported during maintenance window with NNO/MTSO or other core element groups.
  • Supporting SDN/NFV/Openstack virtualization projects.
  • Using tools like IRISView, SevOne, Real Time Tool (RTT), Brocade, NetScout, Wire Shark, SANE, ALPT/CLPT/NCWS, BRIX/CENX for monitoring or troubleshooting network issues.

What we’re looking for...

You have a strong data performance orientation. You like to take ownership of an issue and resolve it successfully. You are able to understand and evaluate a complex problem and present solutions. You work well independently as well as effectively with diverse business teams and vendors to implement solutions.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of LTE including VoLTE/Core/Router networks.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, SIP, RTP, RTCP, TCP/IP Protocol suite, UDP, DNS, Diameter.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Proficiency with network tools such as IRISView, SevOne, Real Time Tool (RTT), Brocade, NetScout, Wire Shark, SANE, ALPT/CLPT/NCWS, BRIX/CENX.
  • Knowledge of the 4G/5G LTE and VoLTE/VoWiFi call flow.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of analysis tools such as Tableau, Excel and presentation software PowerPoint, Word.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Unix, scripting tools.
  • An ability to differentiate and diagnose RAN and CORE related problems.
  • An understanding of IMS and systems engineering aspects related to RAN and proficiency in CORE level call flow analysis.
