Senior Cyber Security Engineer

Cyber Security Architecture & Solutions (CSAS) keeps customer’s digital customer-facing products and internal IT safe and secure. CSAS translates our information security policies into technical controls and helps their product and project teams to embed security into architecture, design and delivery processes. It provides the foundational cyber security platforms and solutions, and works with their teams to integrate applications and infrastructure with these solutions.

Your tasks:

  • As a cyber security engineer, you will build and operate cyber security platforms and solutions for innogy, and facilitate the integration of applications and infrastructure into these platforms and solutions.
  • Collaborate with customer’s product and project teams as well as software engineers and operational staff on the ground in an embedded manner, build and deliver technical security controls into applications, infrastructure and software development and operations processes.
  • During projects, perform internal penetration tests for customer’s most critical digital products and infrastructure in liaison with Group Security, and actively work with different teams to remediate identified security issues.
  • Use state-of-the-art tools to automate security and compliance testing, for example as part of the Secure-Software-Development-Lifecycle, and within the Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery Pipelines.
  • Keeping up-to-date of market trends, analyze and advise on new security technology together with Group Security.
  • Be a coach for Junior Cyber Security engineers and peers in the Operating and Development teams.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Relevant work experience.
  • Experience in technical engineering.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in business, information technology or comparable education.
  • Experience in technical engineering.
  • Proven knowledge of international standards as well as additional qualification (e.g. CISSP or equivalent).
  • Other expert qualification as required by the area of expertise (e.g. ITIL, SIEM, MDM, IPS/IDS, AWS, Azure).
  • Strong experience of security in a Cloud environment.
  • Hands-on Software Development skills across at least two programming stacks & languages (Ideally at least one of Java or .NET), including specific knowledge on how to build secure solutions using these stacks.
  • Experience with log management and / or SIEM tools (Graylog, ELK, Splunk et. al.) and analysis.
  • Strong expertise in Cyber Security trend management (threats, vulnerabilities, technological solutions, best practice processes and methods) and IT-Security technology expertise.
  • Experience working within agile product teams.
  • Business level proficiency in both German and English with the ability to negotiate in both languages.
