Verizon Connect is looking for a Security Operations Lead for the 24/7 security operations team. The lead will be the primary point of contact for the security operations team and will instruct a team of analysts. The Lead will play a key role in the continued development of the global Security Operations Center, leveraging cutting-edge technologies. This position is an exciting opportunity for you to lead enterprise security operations using the latest tech tools.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
• Continually evaluate vendor's product strategies and future product statements and advise, which will be most appropriate to pursue;
• Lead security investigations and management level communications;
• Assist in implementation of new SOC tools and applications and processes;
• Manage security projects and program development;
• Identifies opportunities to improve security monitoring and operational tasks;
• Actively develop new security operations playbooks and operating procedures in a dynamically changing environment;
• Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures are being created and followed by the team;
• Proven leadership skills and the ability to lead a globally distributed team;
• In-depth familiarity with security policies based on industry standards and best practices;
• Participates in 24/7 on-call rotation as required.

What we’re looking for...

Basic Qualifications:
• 4-7 years of experience as a security analyst, including the monitoring and correlation of log events to identify and resolve network intrusion attempts, hunting for suspicious activity based on anomalous activity and indicators of compromise from various intelligence feeds and toolsets, communicating directly with users and asset owners, and participating in the incident response process;
• 2+ years of experience with logging and monitoring, data loss prevention, wireless security, user behavioral analytics, mobile device security, penetration testing, encryption, antivirus/anti-malware, secure development lifecycle, cloud security, and forensic investigations;
• Experience with operating tool sets commonly used for security monitoring and incident analysis (i.e. Splunk, Qualys, McAfee ePO, Exabeam);
• Experience leading incident response teams and efforts, including incident documentation;
• Experience functioning as a key member of an implementation project team;
• Demonstrated knowledge of systems hardening and vulnerability management;
• Demonstrated knowledge of networks and network troubleshooting techniques and appliances, involving firewalls, routers, intrusion prevention systems, and/or web filtering devices;
• BS or advanced degree in computer science or related discipline preferred;
Preferred/Optional Skills:
• Experience working in a global security operations role;
• Understanding and experience in application and network security assessment methodologies, tools, and techniques;
• Computer Forensics a plus; and security automation;
• CISSP, SANS, and other security related certifications a plus;
• Experience with cloud security is a plus;

Bachelors in computer science, engineering, or related technical field
