What you’ll be doing...

Our program provides the US Government with special capabilities in our commercial networks to support emergency communications needs during disasters. You will be responsible for the design, integration, test, troubleshooting and acceptance of priority services in the IMS Network elements for wireless priority voice, data, and video services. You’ll play a key role in making sure our customers continue to enjoy the crystal-clear connections and top-notch call performance during times the network is overloaded because of an emergency event.

  • Providing pre-sales engineering support for the development of technical proposals, working with cross-functional teams to gather customer requirements, developing architecture solutions and compliancy matrices that meet performance, usability, scalability, reliability, and security needs in accordance with customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Managing the documentation deliverables to align with customers’ system engineering life cycle processes.
  • Serving as the subject matter expert for Priority Services in Voice over IP (VoIP), working closely with engineers and planners to recommend service improvements and give guidance to network planning, network evolution and growth plans for priority wireless services.
  • Providing leadership, guidance, and technical direction on engineering projects to define goals and identify scope of work needed to develop standards-based solution architectures for specific customer requirements for priority voice, data, and video services.
  • Validating and creating VoIP architecture and engineering requirements, network impact assessments, engineering design standards, and alarms and network statistics definitions.
  • Providing support for SIP and TDM-based software installations with enhanced media gateways.
  • Troubleshooting priority voice services, and validating configurations on communication media segments.
  • Working closely with the production network teams in the development, testing, and implementation of advance data core features.
  • Creating and implementing test plans, and maintaining and recommending changes to test cases, test procedures and instructions for successful end to end testing of priority service features in the VoIP network elements.
  • Performing IP tracing in a complex network and multi-protocol analysis.
  • Examining and troubleshooting flows using various packet analyzer tools, as well as independently analyzing performance trends of various high level and engineering level Key Performance Indicators for Priority Services.
  • Developing and maintaining excellent proactive, working relationships with all appropriate levels within and outside the company.
  • Satisfying customer technical, product quality and timely delivery expectations.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with the following:
    • VOIP gateways
    • Session Border Controller technologies
    • SIP protocol and IMS based services
    • SS7 tracing, and the function of each note in a typical SIP call flow
    • Call processes between End to End system testing
    • Configuration, feature testing, troubleshooting
    • Protocol specifications and analysis
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a government issued security clearance.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication, IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related technical discipline.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in converged technologies including TDM and IP voice, UC messaging, and data networking.
  • In-depth knowledge of network design and voice systems, including: switches and routers, VOIP PBX technologies, Dial plan configuration and network routing, SIP, H232, PRI and WAN protocols.
  • Detailed knowledge of voice and data network copper and fiber cabling infrastructure in a multi-datacenter environment.
  • Eight or more years of experience with VoIP technologies.
  • CCNA and/or CCVP certification.
