What you’ll be doing...

Our operations centre is focused around collaboration and success and you will be a part of a skilled operations team managing dynamic multi-tenanted and dedicated secure gateway environments. These environments utilize a range of technologies that are underpinned by a framework that ensures security, reliability and agility for our customers. Because of these extensive environments you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of technologies across multiple vendors including Cisco, VMware, Checkpoint, F5, McAfee, Juniper, Palo Alto, Splunk, BlueCoat and more.

We are currently seeking a Principal Security Architect to join our team. The role is within the Operations Design and Engineering group working with internal stakeholders, external parties and customers to realize the potential of the services we are engaged to provide.

The key goals for the group are:

  • Deliver an engaging customer experience.
  • Building a team focused on people development and culture.
  • Driving productivity and efficiencies within existing infrastructure.
  • Generating additional revenue for the business by enabling new customer services.


  • Setting direction for the business, service and product roadmaps, capacity and availability management of infrastructure.
  • Performing overall solution architecture for new designs and solutions across the Government SOC environments.
  • Assisting Sales and Pre-Sales with new business opportunities as well as working with Internal Professional Services and Project teams, creating detailed design and implementation plans and overseeing deployments.
  • Maintaining internal design standards compliance.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Minimum NV1 level Active security clearance.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree, majoring in Computer Science, Electrical, Computer, Communications or System Engineering, or related fields.
  • Master’s degree.
  • Five or more years of hands on technical IT Security, with a strong emphasis on the operation of firewalls in a secure environment including hands on networking with a focus on data communications.
  • Two or more years of experience in the design and deployment of Internetworks, in both government and commercial environments.
  • Work experience with the following technologies: SMTP, HTTP/S, DNS, IPSEC/SSL VPN’s, IPv6 & TCP/IP and associated monitoring tools.
  • Working knowledge of Palo Alto, Juniper, CISCO, McAfee and Checkpoint firewalls, VMware, F5, Web Gateways and Email Gateway appliances.
  • Development of business cases to support the implementation of advanced IT solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Demonstrated use of sound problem solving techniques to think outside the box for innovative solutions.
  • Deep technical expertise in networking, security, virtualization, cloud including relevant certifications (e.g. CCNA / SANS / VMware).
  • Strong knowledge of the Australian Government Information Security Manual, along with ISO 9001/27001 standards.
  • Industry certifications.
