What you’ll be doing...

Our wireline networks are the backbone of the services we provide and transport huge amounts of data every day. Customers expect fast and reliable service and that’s where you come in. The work you’ll be doing will help predict and prevent customer impacting events and improve network performance and most importantly our customer’s experiences. We are looking for a candidate with a strong satellite engineering background to join our organization.

  • Be part of a team of subject matter experts for hub architecture and design and also all configuration and support of satellite core infrastructure in the network.
  • Daily activities include, but are not limited to, working with other Planning, Engineering and Design teams provide guidance and direction on capacity management, networking and routing design and support. Regularly lead multiple projects and performs project management activities such as planning, sizing, configuration, resources and scheduling.
  • As part of the organization, you will work and lead external technology suppliers to develop new methods of delivering premier satellite services to our end users.
  • Develop resolutions to complex problems and provide technical guidance to management and executives on decisions that impact customers, projects, staff members and organizations.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of experience
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in electrical engineering, network engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
  • Ideally, five plus years of experience in Satellite and Network telecommunications experience.
  • Certification in Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)/ Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
  • Industry certifications from iDirect, Newtec or Viasat.
  • Server and related experience such as VMware;VMware certifications a plus.
  • Demonstrated good communications skills; you will be part of a team of very knowledgeable people and speaking and presenting to customers showcasing Verizon’s satellite products and services is common.
  • Satellite industry certifications such as iDirect, Newtec or others.
  • Routing and networking experience and advanced router and switch knowledge.
