What you’ll be doing...

The mission of the USARC CIO/G-6 is to provide secure, integrated signal and information technology capabilities to strengthen the Army Reserves’ combat readiness. The Army LandWarNet and the Army Reserve Network (ARNet) are undergoing a major transformation and network modernization that requires partnering with other governmental organizations, industry and academia to guide future leading edge technology.

Verizon is looking for a Project Manager for our USARC contract located at Cary, NC. You will be collaborating across Verizon and client organizations to plan, coordinate, brief, and manage Information Technology projects from inception, closure and hand-off to Operations and Maintenance (O&M). You will manage and control resources and processes to include administrative aspects of assigned projects. You will execute project management with respect to contract requirements within the realm of the USARC CIO/G-6. Service assurance is how we know we’re living up to our customer commitments. You will manage projects under service assurance for one of our multimillion dollar clients, ensuring that our performance is in line with our contractual requirements. You will also keep track of our custom service level agreements (which can be pretty complex), and take swift corrective action if you find us falling behind. You will play a critical role in making sure that here, we keep our promises.

  • Monitoring ongoing service management to ensure compliance with SLAs and SOWs.
  • Preparing performance, service level reports, and briefings.
  • Managing dashboard reporting and metrics.
  • Leading efforts to develop and maintain contractual deliverables.
  • Working with the customer to remedy any incidents of noncompliance.
  • Leading projects on specific initiatives.
  • Executing project management procedures; controlling, planning, and directing project execution, monitoring and reporting progress, and managing programs/projects.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or more years of project or program management experience in telecommunications.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Active goverment security clearance

Even better if you have:

  • MBA.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Four or more years of project or program management experience in telecommunications.
  • Experience of configuration and implementationLAN/WAN, Security. Ideally, with overall telecom and IT integration.
  • Experience with Telecom including Voice and Data Networks, LANs, wireless, and SLAs.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and Visio software.
  • ITIL certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
