A Verizon Connect Software Engineering Opportunity—which is part of the overall Verizon Campus Program—will give you a chance to channel your drive and enthusiasm. You’ll work in a dynamic group of software engineers that build state-of-the-art products to run a fast-growing enterprise and focus on developing next generation Telematics, data science, and automotive proof of concepts.

In this role, you may have the opportunity to:

  • Design and develop high quality, high performance, low latency large-scale platform, services and libraries.

  • Work on full stack development both client (iOS, Android) and Server side elements.

  • Write clean, fast code to implement new features.

  • Make sure changing code has enough unit test coverage.

  • Deploy a stack into AWS with your code

  • Do a code review or respond to yours

  • Develop a deep understanding of the relevant business areas and components in the stack.

  • Effectively communicate, partner with and execute cross-functional projects

You’ll need to have:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related major with an expected completion date before August 2019.

    Even better if you have:

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • Demonstrated strong analytic, communication, leadership and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively in a fast-moving, team environment.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite of Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Experience with the entire software development lifecycle from inception to testing to production deployment and maintenance.

  • Familiarity with one or more of the following disciplines or skills: Python, Java, C, C++, C#, HTML, JavaScript, UI development, SAS, R, Hadoop, Android or iOS programming, Java Perl, AWS, Eclipse, SQL, NoSQL, MATLAB, Node.js, Oracle, Linux or Windows, .NET MVC, OBDII, Security Administration, OP Telephony and SIP, messaging services like Kafka, ActiveMQ or RabbitMQ, integration methodologies and tools such as SOAP and REST, understanding of object-oriented design principles, or configuration management tools.
