What you’ll be doing...

Customer demand for communications service keeps growing. You will provide leadership and support to oversee the sustainability of the nation’s largest and most reliable network. Your role will involve leading and developing a high-performing team to effectively perform network management responsibilities in support of our key initiatives. We are constantly innovating to enhance the customer experience and you can play a vital role in changing the way our customers live, work, and play.

  • Leading, motivating and developing a high performing team of Engineers who are experienced in Outside Plant Design while driving change to meet strategic business goals.
  • Managing all functions of the team including work print design review and approvals, scheduling, performance and time reporting.
  • Providing technical assistance and communicating technical information and status to customer service centers, technical support organizations and management teams.
  • Coaching and developing a team to have a sense of urgency in providing customer service, satisfaction and on time performance.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • An advanced degree in engineering or related field.
  • Familiarity with engineering systems like CCP, ICGS, TIRKS, LFACS, vBuild, iVapp, and FIM.
  • Two or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Two or more years of experience with telecommunications engineering.
  • Experience supervising union employees.
  • Understanding of various circuit architectures. This would include but not limited to DS1, Ethernet, SONET, Dark Fiber, GPON, and FTTP.
  • One or more years of experience reading plats and other facility documentation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven planning and organization skills in a dynamic work environment.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to act independently with a sense of urgency and appropriately escalate issues as required.
  • The ability to work in a cross functional capacity between various internal and external organizations.
  • Proven ability to balance multiple projects with varying priorities.
