What you’ll be doing...

We want to liberate access to digital media, delighting our customers with beautifully crafted products that put them in control. That’s where you come in. You’ll design, develop, and test embedded applications and user interfaces for our consumer electronic products. You’ll work with other engineers, designers, and offshore development teams to deliver applications and user interfaces that help us redefine how media is consumed in the world today.

  • Designing, developing and testing middleware, user interface components, and embedded applications on set top boxes and other consumer electronics.
  • Troubleshooting issues and providing ongoing system and application support.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of the systems, applications, and infrastructure underpinning the products.
  • Taking ideas for new revenue generating services, user interfaces or applications and prototyping them to help define business and software requirements.
  • Maintaining prototype asset libraries and helping to develop and protect patentable intellectual property.
  • Developing C/C++ software for video analytics systems;
  • Implementing object detection, recognition and tracking algorithms for video analytics in C++ language;
  • Writing specifications and other technical documentation;
  • Working in small teams, reporting to team leader/project manager.

As an excellent communicator, you can cut through the technical jargon and explain complex concepts in a way everyone can understand. No stranger to a fast-paced, dynamic environment, you juggle multiple priorities with ease to achieve timely results.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with developing applications using C/C++, Perl, PHP or Fedora.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems development, troubleshooting and management.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.
  • Experience in Linux operating system, embedded systems and client server architecture.
  • Experience on video platforms, set top and consumer electronics device application development.
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle.

Advantages

  • Previous experience with image or video processing systems;
  • Previous experience with cloud processing and virtualization technologies;
  • Previous experience with embedded systems;
  • GPU programming experience;
  • Familiarity with Linux;
  • Familiarity with OpenCV;
  • Experience with HTML5 and JavaScript;
  • Experience with scripting languages, like Linux bash.
