The Managing Partner (MP) will manage a department of Solutions Engineers (SEs) whose role is to work with both internal and external constituents. The MP must lead the team, coach the team, and become involved in the most complex customer opportunities and issues. The MP must also work internally with a wide array of departments and stakeholders including Sales, Product Management, Customer Success, and Verizon Wireless personnel.

Regular, ongoing interface with sales and other leadership to provide pre sales technical support in order to improve close percentage and sales cycle. Report on participation and efficacy in the relevant segments for SEs. Evaluate and train SEs in order to provide them the tools to properly engage with sales and prospects. High degree of autonomy for decision making and creating internal and external relationships to complete the job.

Specific job duties include:

  • Working with sales teams to assist in closing new business and extending business in existing customers
  • Be a technology expert, and coach a team of SEs in regards to our technologies
  • Coach SEs in how to use sales techniques along with their technology expertise in order to enhance our ability to win business
  • Assist SEs and sales in pre meeting planning
  • Manage day to day and ongoing departmental items
  • Analyze and report field results and activity
  • Communicate customer feedback to internal teams
  • Engage with internal teams such as sales, product management, and Verizon Wireless
  • Reporting and activity management
  • Improve team capabilities through various training
  • Utilize internal systems as needed

    What we’re looking for...

    You’ll need to have:

    • Secondary degree
    • 7+ years of background in technology, preferably software technology, and sales and sales methodologies.
    • Experience managing teams of technical personnel.
    • Knowledge of commonly used sales methodologies and techniques so that they can be successful selling the technology VZC has to offer. Manager must understand the software solutions in order to be able to provide insight on fixing or improving issues

    Even better if you have:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an applicable field
    • Ability to honestly and consistently coach their personnel in order to improve performance.
    • Ability to interface with the technology modules they sell, including software, apps, hardware, and APIs.
    • Strong analytical skills, technical skills, and relationship skills. Manager needs to possess the capability to interface with customers and internal personnel in order to successfully sell our products and resolve issues.
    • The ability to interface internally to solve problems will set this person apart from a non-manager position.
