What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is a Fortune 500 company providing ICT services to Enterprise and Government clients. To support our customers with excellence being at the core of what we do, we are heavily reliant on our internal corporate teams. Our Verizon Global Corporate Security Organization which is responsible for the protection and safeguarding of company assets including personnel, property and proprietary information. As our Security Administrator, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to Regional Security Managers in the area of investigations, physical and personnel security, law enforcement liaison and security awareness.

  • Designing, implementing and managing physical security systems (access control, staff access passes, key management systems, intrusion detection and CCTV) for Verizon sites in Canberra in compliance with Australian Government security standards.
  • Implementing, managing and reviewing site security processes in compliance with Verizon and Australian Government security standards and aligning with the rest of Australia.
  • Project managing security upgrades as required in Canberra.
  • Assisting with customer and Government security audits and compliance inspections.
  • Supervising Security Guard operations within Canberra.
  • Investigating security breaches and providing timely notifications and reports to government agencies where required.
  • Assisting with Conduct Code of Conduct and related investigations where required.
  • Assisting with processing personnel security clearances through Australian Government Security Vetting Authority (AGSVA) when required.
  • Assisting Law Enforcement and National Security Agencies in compliance with TIA Act when required.
  • Conducting security awareness presentations, security briefings and debriefs as required.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Active NV1 Clearance.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role within a government or private sector organization.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders at all levels of the business.
  • Demonstrated exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience and knowledge in a government policies as well as managing relationships.
