What you’ll be doing...

Verizon’s Supply Chain organization is building a best-in-class, global Strategic Sourcing Centre of Excellence based in Dublin. We wish to attract the brightest and biggest-thinking minds in the international strategic sourcing industry, to create, build and run a team that sets the benchmark across the globe, whilst driving outstanding shareholder value for Verizon. As our Network Category Sourcing Manager, you will be part of a team that will control and manage one of the largest annual technology spends in the world. Is this the challenge you are looking for?

  • Assisting in supporting Verizon's cost savings, revenue generation, and delivery of innovative products and services goals through the sourcing process for the network spend category areas.
  • Developing Category Strategies by conducting market intelligence, spend analytics, and evaluation of key business requirements.
  • Leading contract negotiations with suppliers, particularly in new technologies.
  • Developing strategic sourcing RFP’s and leading Cross Functional Teams’ evaluations of suppliers’ responses.
  • Managing multiple high-dollar and time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
  • Staying current with industry trends for a specific network category and becoming a trusted advisor to your business partners.
  • Maximizing Verizon's purchasing power to achieve a lower cost structure while mitigating risk.
  • Effectively presenting new products, technologies and services from existing or new suppliers to clients.
  • Conducting Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) on all initiatives and presenting results to the Verizon leadership team.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four of more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of wireless radio access network (RAN) technologies.
  • Experience in sourcing.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in a technical or business field.
  • Experience in sourcing in technology areas such as wireless network equipment and infrastructure including the RAN, software licensing, and virtualized network elements.
  • An understanding of Ericsson’s wireless products.
  • Experience in performing TCO analysis and financial modeling.
  • Self-motivation /self-starter with ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills and work independently to manage priorities.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and client management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite applications (including PowerPoint, Excel and Word).
  • Experience as a negotiator on high value contracts.
