What you’ll be doing...

The Digital Marketing & Demand Activation team at Verizon is hiring for a Content Marketing Manager to play a key role in creating comprehensive online marketing strategies, in partnership with our agencies. This role will contribute to an omni-channel strategy, execution, and analysis via Content Marketing best practices and innovation. We are looking for a passionate marketer with extensive background in content strategy & editorial and knowledge of SEO/SEM and data-driven marketing. The ideal candidate will actively contribute to our content marketing knowledge base as a subject matter expert and execute against large-scale campaigns with guidance, working within interdisciplinary teams. This is a unique role to work within a dynamic group that is defining the future of digital marketing for a Fortune 15 business.

  • Content Marketing Strategy
    • Accountable for content marketing initiatives to drive traffic, engagement, leads, and brand awareness
    • Create amplification strategy across paid, owned, earned media, and develop partnerships across working groups to execute these strategies.
    • Be an advocate for the value of content marketing and organic marketing within the organization across different business units and lines of business, and identity new opportunities for integration beyond core initiatives.
    • Identify new ways to innovate in the content marketing discipline, whether that be through new formats or executions, or through new market or audience opportunities.
  • Editorial, Operations and Content Strategy
    • Develop content marketing strategic guidelines, editorial requirements & governance for Verizon Communications and the various business units; including taxonomy best practices, content categorization/structure, content development, cross channel distribution and measurement.
    • Develop content strategy that leverages Wireless consumer journey data to create and license content that will drive incremental traffic to verizonwireless.com.
    • Lead business stakeholders and agencies in the creation of a cross business unit content marketing strategy and editorial publishing process.
    • Develop operational process to efficiently create, publish and distribute content at scale.
    • Develop proper publishing cadence to drive repeat visitors to Verizon’s content and ensure visibility on social platforms.
  • Technical and Analytics
    • Establish content marketing infrastructure to easily manage and distribute content by working closely with back-end and front-end developers, ensuring components and templates are fully functional and live seamlessly within the .com ecosystem.
    • Create content marketing measurement and optimization program that will inform the effectiveness of content marketing initiatives and strategies, ensuring positive ROI across all content marketing initiatives and campaigns.
    • Establish integrated analytics dashboard with BU e-commerce teams to develop programmatic tracking of how content marketing’s impact to conversion rates prospect traffic.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in content, social, or search marketing.

Even Better if you have:

  • MBA.
  • 7+ years of experience in content, social, or search marketing.
  • Capability to be an excellent communicator and creative thinker, with the ability to use both data and creativity to inform decisions.
  • Experience leading complex projects across a matrixed organization with various stakeholders and KPIs.
  • Ability to develop resolutions to complex problems through the use of creativity, data insights, and collaboration.
  • Self-motivated mindset that can take ownership of a project and see it through from ideation to implementation.
  • Background leveraging licensed and owned content to manage regular publishing cadence.
  • Strong knowledge of search and social best practices, demonstrating a command of which content and approaches work in which channel and why.
  • Proficiency in web analytics software, Adobe Analytics (Site Catalyst).
  • Experience with data-driven SEO analysis and optimization.
  • Ability to analyze and present content and social performance.
  • Project management skills and understanding how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment; comfortable working with PMO tools, specifically Jira.
  • Working knowledge of content management systems, Adobe Experience Manager.
  • Ability to effectively communicate content marketing requirements to IT and Creative teams and bridge the gap between these teams to help integrate content into the digital experience.
  • Experience building and maintaining brand editorial calendars.
