What you’ll be doing...

You will be responsible for scoping and driving the vendor management strategy and delivery of software across the digital platform for VBM. You will manage all vendor deliverables including software quality, defects, and contract deliverables as required with other Verizon stakeholders, ensuring communication and documentation across the wider program.

  • Taking accountability for delivering digital platform quality software development from our vendors by ensuring requirements are clearly provided.
  • Initiating and managing daily working sessions for escalations and resolution to issues for optimal software delivery.
  • Managing changes and communications back with internal Verizon teams as necessary.
  • Closely managing and communicating program timelines, deliverables and changes, delays or advances in delivery to senior executives and partner teams.
  • Providing program management of daily interactions within a large scale program and vendor environment for success to ensure timelines and deliverables are met across the program.
  • Handling program management of vendor performance against contract and program targets via scorecard creation and maintenance including penalties as appropriate.
  • Taking ownership of vendor relationships by managing and executing daily status calls, escalations, development volume and quality related processes including contracting, approvals, on-boarding, invoicing, and related reporting.
  • Enabling continuous process improvement across the vendor management space by maturing software development platforms and managing transitions for the launch of new products on the platform, and consolidating contracts and processes
  • Managing day to day stakeholder and vendor relationships, vendor governance and controls, and all related issues/escalations resolution in connection with Senior Tech and Business Managers to understand pipeline and vendor requirements, resource planning and financial impact.
  • Providing ad-hoc analysis/reporting as requested.
  • Working with the vendor to define GTM strategy for the digital platform and ensuring delivery of software and digital technology assets for the platform within time and budget.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Seven or more years of direct management experience.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements and challenges to leadership.
  • Proven ability to communicate with and present materials to senior audiences.
  • Strong understanding of various contracting models and a good understanding of governance processes with vendors.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture and hosting providers.
  • Ability to identify critical issues and escalate to leadership when appropriate.
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic environment with tight schedules.
  • Proficiency with meeting schedules and timelines.
  • Ability to organize assigned tasks in a fast paced environment and concurrently monitor task/assignments with others that may impact timely completion.
  • Strong multi-tasking ability in conjunction with proven organizational skills.
  • Experience with technical writing and document development/generation.
  • Proficiency writing well-formulated emails, notifications and reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills along with solid presentation skills.
  • Experience interacting with vendors and evaluating vendor performance.
  • Strong experience with technology delivery and experience working in a technology organization delivering large scale projects that included managing multiple vendors for delivery and implementation.
  • Excellent understanding of all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle including Agile Methodologies and DevSecOps processes.
  • Experience with large scale vendor operations.
  • Five or more years of program management experience or functioning as a lead in Information Technology.
