The role

You will work in a small close knit team in our Canberra offices. You will sell strategic networking, security and professional services to a public sector account base. This role is heavily focussed on new sales, rather than maintaining existing revenue flows. The position will require the successful candidate to:

  • Sell Verizon’s solutions to Australian Federal Government agencies
  • Develop strategic account plans based on industry trends and customer analysis
  • Build, cultivate and manage senior / executive level client relationships
  • Grow and deliver a healthy sales pipeline
  • Build outcome based solutions with the wider Verizon team
  • Work with Sales, Service and Solutions Engineers to deliver optimum customer satisfaction

Our requirements

  • Sales success selling multi-year complex security and network solutions into large Australian Federal Government agencies (excluding Defence)
  • Extensive range of executive level contacts within the Australian Federal Government
  • Consultative selling approach with and a good understanding of solutions selling methodology and tools
  • Broad industry knowledge
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Business insight
  • Sound judgment
  • Considerable self-motivation
  • Willingness to work in teams in multiple roles (i.e. contributor through to leader)
  • Organised
  • Strong communication, collaboration and creative skills
  • Self motivated with strong desire to succeed
  • Australian government security clearance preferred, but not mandatory
