What you’ll be doing...

We help our customers understand how our platform, network, and IoT (Internet of Things) solutions will help their businesses work better, faster, be more secure and solve real business problems. This is where you come in. Your role will be to work on meaningful business development activities including (1) acquiring and rationalizing new wireless spectrum assets at FCC auctions or on the secondary market to support our world-class network, (2) valuing and acquiring the assets or equity of operating wireless companies to supplement our 4G LTE footprint, and (3) valuing and acquiring the interests of our equity partners in dozens of markets large and small. Transactions like these help cement our position as the wireless market leader. Working with internal teams from sales to legal, network, regulatory, finance and IT, you’ll anticipate critical gaps and future needs and make the right business and technology connections to offer the best integrated solutions. Ultimately, you will create better ways for people and businesses to stay connected.

  • Preparing detailed but elegant valuation models that incorporate large network data sets to support FCC auctions and acquisition activity.
  • Preparing decision support materials for senior executive or board review in advance for major negotiations.
  • Negotiating with spectrum licensees, operating company executives or equity partners.
  • Supporting Verizon’s spectrum auction team in upcoming FCC auctions.
  • Managing acquisitions from concept to negotiation to signing to integration and every step in between.

You bring the widest perspective to issues and think of aspects that others have missed. Revenue goals and business outcomes motivate you, but you’re also attuned to building close relationships with others—a combination that earns you respect and trust alike. A thirst for knowledge means that you’re a constant learner, and keeping up with everything Internet of Things is no problem. You envision the large and complex, but make it easy for others to understand.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering or related field or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A Master’s degree or MBA.
  • CPA or CFA certification.
  • Experience with wireless industry, IoT solutions, M2M technology and OS platforms.
  • Sold and managed large, complex engagements and projects with multiple stakeholders. Ideally, including c-suite stakeholders.
  • Forged partner relationships and agreements.
  • Demonstrated executive presence and influence skills.
  • Network knowledge with a focus on the RAN or spectrum bands.
  • The willingness to travel domestically on a very limited basis.
