What you’ll be doing...

  • Handling all operational aspects of Tower Company management.
  • You may also be in a negotiating role that will interface with the Tower Companies in the industry with PM responsibilities as well as negotiation responsibilities.
  • You’re knowledgeable about the industry and are a strong negotiator owning the management of Master Lease Agreements, including complex business relationships with tower companies, their financials and their operations.
  • Working closely with theDirector, Legal and the network field organizations. The overall portfolio includes towers, rooftops, buildings, DAS and ancillary structures, with an increasing focus on plans for supporting turnkey small cell technology.
  • Negotiating, drafting and closing a wide variety of complex contracts concerning operational aspects of transactions.
  • Ensuring that the negotiated and drafted agreement terms and conditions are made in the best interest of Network (i.e. maximum benefit with minimum risk). Contracts include mainly Tower Company transactions and PM responsibilities around keeping the field knowledgeable on the deals and what we can and cannot do.
  • Communicating with management, the field, legal and senior management on contract issues and operational issues alike.
  • Reviewing and modifying comprehensive, complex contracts, addendums and related agreements which accurately reflect the intent of the parties to the transaction and the results of the negotiations.
  • Engaging with all levels of the Network Field teams and Legal Department to ensure contract terms and conditions are consistent with business practices, policies and goals.
  • Maintaining a library of current template forms, negotiated provisions and other relevant information.
  • Reviewing RFP questions and responses.
  • Demonstrated capability of being a strategic thinker with preparing client contract negotiations (if/then thinking).
  • Recommending changes to VZW’s form agreements to address comments or concerns from the field and others.
  • Reviewing contract forms completed by others to ensure that financial terms are written to protect VZW. Using judgment to identify situations that require attention or approval of senior management. Providing input and shares knowledge with department associates as to approaches to unique as well as recurring contract issues.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Five or more years of experience in the wireless industry.
  • Four or more years of experience in negotiations (leasing or other relevant areas).
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Understanding of Tower Company agreements and negotiation, previous experience in this area preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Real Estate industry and market dynamics.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of wireless cell tower industry.
  • Strategic business planning skills.
  • Financial acumen in business case development and cost structure modeling.
  • Understanding of legal and zoning considerations.
  • Proven ability to manage and influence numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of network portfolio and assets.
  • Experience managing major national vendors and business partners across multiple disciplines.
  • Proven ability to lead a matrix team (not direct reports).
  • Proven ability to lead people in transforming an organization toward a strategic focus while continuing to maintain daily field supporting operational functions.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, presentation and writing skills with experience in large group settings.
  • Financial background.
