What you’ll be doing...

You will provide senior level operations support and act as a Subject Matter Expert for high availability, high performance and manageable data complexes for existing and new services for MMSC, LDAP, VMG platforms.

  • Perform hands-on system systems administration work, which will in many cases require night maintenance window work.
  • Quickly respond to critical service impacting issues with intuitive out-of-the-box ideas and solutions.
  • Prioritize multiple high-visibility projects and drive decisions and resolutions for unique problems that may not have existing/complete solutions.
  • Interact with cross functional teams such as: PDI, Planning, Maintenance Engineering, Transport, Provisioning, Data Mediation, Revenue assurance and other organizations to design and deploy components for optimal efficiency and reliability.
  • Submit NSRs, PSRs and all other requests necessary to bring the platform on the network.
  • Work with vendors to drive resolution quickly and efficiently for operational issues as well as deploy SW upgrades.
  • Participate in an on call rotation that involves providing SME support 24x7 for the following platforms: MMSC, LDAP, and VMG.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, and/or two-year technical degree.
  • Special electronics training.
  • Five or more years of Computer Science/Engineering experience.
  • Five or more years of experience supporting commercial, 24x7, and internet-facing systems (Linux).
  • Experience with High Availability Solutions and Cloud Solutions.
  • Experience with performance measurement and capacity planning.
  • Experience developing support tools on Linux using UNIX shell scripts and utilities.
  • Vendor management experience.
  • Complete understanding of IP network services, global server load balancing, routing, and protocols, such as HTTP/HTTPS, SMTP, SMPP, SNMP, etc.
  • Thorough end-to-end knowledge of Messaging Platforms: MMSC, VMG and LDAP.
  • Red Hat, MCSE, CCNA, or related certifications.
  • Demonstrated technical analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Knowledge of Wireless Data Concepts.
  • Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to work well independently.
