What you’ll be doing...

The New Services Enablement (NSE) Senior Manager is part of the Strategy & Services Enablement (SSE) team and supports Verizon Sales, Network Management and Solution Management teams by successfully driving strategy with Product. This includes auditing vendor offerings, developing solutions and integrating new products into the Verizon portfolio. This individual is required to manage a team that provides senior level presentations, participates in technical customer meetings, and consults with product and solution architects on complex deals based upon the client requirements. This leadership position provides the technical direction and documentation of the acceptance test criteria and standard solution guides necessary to ensure successful launch of Verizon products in the Enterprise market space. The NSE Senior Manager also works directly with Verizon Executives to continually grow Verizon Products and Services to meet changing industry standards. Assigned location is flexible based on Verizon locations, with a strong preference for Cary, NC.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage a team of technical SMEs responsible for development of product and custom solutions
  • Perform a wide range of solution and project management activities to include tracking and driving milestones/deliverables
  • Complete business/system analysis and provide operational input into the product development governance
  • Provide technical input to create IT system user stories to close product and system gaps discovered in pre-launch testing or production
  • Lead the product user acceptance test cycle and weekly project status
  • Service and operations management strategy and vision
  • Pre-and post-sales delivery of custom critical management solutions
  • Vendor selection and due-diligence for customer operational structures and standard product integration
  • Partner with sales and solution teams to assess opportunity and develop win strategy and optimize solution
  • Validating the end-to-end solutions which minimize operational and financial risks
  • Interface to Verizon Business core support organizations
  • Validate with internal and external groups to ensure that all solutions are supportable
  • Identify opportunities to standardize services and reduce costs
  • Validate and determine third party relationship in delivery of services

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of direct service management architecture design, service delivery or operations experience
  • Six or more years of leadership experience and capable of managing local and virtual team members
  • Six or more years of costing/Pricing and business case development experience
  • Six or more years of knowledge in WAN, LAN, Security, voice, IT, wireless and IP technologies
  • Six or more years of direct customer contract negotiation experience
  • Six or more years of outsourcing solution development and delivery experience required
  • Knowledge of Verizon’s products and services and ability to identify those needed from third party vendors and/or partners required

Even better if you have:

  • A degree
  • Outsourcing solution development and global delivery experience preferred
  • A self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and good team development skills
  • Ability to serve as an executive interface for internal and client-facing interactions, including executive level communication
  • Understanding of Software Defined Networking and Virtual Network Services
  • Cloud and Virtualization experience (AWS, OpenStack, VMware, etc.)
  • Extensive experience in managed services, operations, or direct service management architecture design
  • Lean Six Sigma, Agile, and/or DevOps experience
  • Preferred certifications such as:
    • ITIL V3 certification (highly preferred)
    • Agile/Scrum Master
    • Security Certification (CISSP, CEH, etc.)
    • Technical Networking Certification (Cisco CCNA/CCNP or Juniper JNCIA/JNCIP)
