What you’ll be doing...

The Strategy Development team is tasked with facilitating better strategy development across Verizon, driving portfolio evolution, investment ROI and closing the gap to the North Star. This position will be responsible for supporting the Corporate Strategy group at Verizon with all aspects of the Strategy development but with a particular focus on defining and managing the Strategy process framework and how that is interpreted across the organization. They will be on point to drive the 5yr Business Planning process to activate the Strategy team and the various business teams. They will manage the Strategy Forum, creating a community of strategy professionals across the company and hosting a day long meeting at least twice a year. This role will also pick up special strategy.

  • Identify, track, and communicate industry and competitors trends and disruptions in the enterprise market and assess the impact to Verizon in the short and long term
  • Identify and assess organic and inorganic growth opportunities for Verizon
  • Be a subject matter expert on the Verizon strategy process and how it should be used
  • Partner with the Leadership Excellence, Business Excellence and Quality Management System teams to nurture, train, grow and measure strategic capability and execution across the organization.
  • Assist business units in developing strategies using Verizon’s strategy process
  • Facilitate discussions between the Product, Finance and Strategy teams to drive a cohesive stage-gated approach to managing our capital investment and building a product roadmap supporting our defined strategic growth initiatives.
  • Facilitate driving the 5yr business planning process from a strategy perspective incorporating product roadmap and capital investment asks into the process.
  • Help synthesize results of quantitative and qualitative analyses into key trends, implications, and/or recommendations
  • Maintain ownership and accountability of the team budget, headcount and real estate needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials for senior management and board presentations
  • Assist in special projects as assigned

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Finance.
  • MBA.
  • Management consulting or strong project management experience.
  • Prior experience in the technology sector.
  • Demonstrated experience solving complex, ambiguous, and analytically challenging problems.
  • Excellent process management and planning skills.
  • Critical thinking skills with ability to execute on details.
  • Strong quantitative skills.
