What you’ll be doing...

You’ll support strategic global commercial and US Federal clients using our various Identity and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions. This is an opportunity for PKI Software and API Subject Matter Experts to work within the Verizon Security Services team that is operating on the cutting-edge of information security.

While working with peers in APAC and EMEA, you’ll provide PKI SME support to the global team on our PKI software solutions and APIs. As part of this role, you’ll work directly with our product management and IT development teams on complex bug and feature support, as well as work with our senior operations engineers on deployment and integration tasks; operating under US Federal ATO Audit, Webtrust, and ISO27001:2013 compliance and corporate governance requirements.

  • Provide service support and maintenance for Identity and Access Management (IAM) technologies in both a managed and non-managed services environment with a focus on Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and APIs that provide integration with the Certificate Authority.
  • Provide application engineering support for IAM clients.
  • Customize front-end applications for clients integrating authentication products into their environment.
  • Support back-end applications for hosted environment customers with emphasis on proactively mitigating risk and preventing vulnerabilities.
  • Oversee all aspects of software delivery and interoperability testing for clients’ PKI-enabling custom applications.
  • Ensure deliverables meet specifications and quality requirements, as well as compliance with security policies and export/import regulations.
  • Sustain engineering effort:
    • Handle all phases of communication with the customers, from taking and logging technical queries to escalating them to the development group
    • Represent operations in bug and feature review calls with product management and development
    • Prioritize bugs and features as per agile methodologies
  • Identify new features.
  • Deliver patches to meet customer needs.
  • Evaluate current product documentation and update existing operational documentation to ensure consistency of service documentation and service readiness.
  • Develop knowledge book built using the customer support database of technical queries to contribute to service readiness.
  • Participate in the on-call coverage schedule.
  • Provide expert and creative solutions for problems reported on Verizon products to ensure external and internal customer satisfaction and productivity.
  • Replicate customer environment/issues on test lab.
  • Research, develop or recommend, and test diagnostic tools and aids for improving diagnostic capability relative to developer tool set.
  • Maintain SLAs and KPI for service delivery.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or six or more years of work experience with PKI Application support, development, and engineering
  • Experience in a DevOps or sustaining engineering role
  • Experience with the following protocols: X.509, PKCS, OCSP, SSL, S/MIME, IPsec, LDAP
  • Knowledge of how to read, write, and modify Java code to reproduce and troubleshoot custom applications
  • Experience with RESTful API
  • Scripting experience: Java, Perl, php, shell
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends during the week assigned to on-call
  • Active government issued security clearance at a Public Trust level, or eligibility to obtain and maintain this clearance

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field
  • PKI product experience such as RSA, Sixscape, OpenXPKI, Entrust, DigiCert, etc.
  • CISA, CISSP, or SANS security certification
  • ITILv3 certification
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills
  • Good understanding of HTML, CSS and web integration
  • Linux and Windows experience
  • Basic DBA management experience: Oracle, SQL
  • Broad understanding of network security and secured network protocols
  • Apache/Tomcat experience
  • Hardware Security Modules experience
  • Ability to work and communicate cross-functionally, independently, and within the “follow the sun” team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, multi-tasking effectively with discipline and attention to detail
