What you’ll be doing...

The focus of your position will be to work with the Demand Generation Director and marketing segmentation partners to execute campaigns for national and local initiatives and supporting market needs within multiple segments for the wireless business unit.

You will be responsible for driving both creative and messaging consistency from a 360 consumer engagement touchpoint perspective within and outside the marketing organization. Specifically, the management of marcom needs in traditional and digital spectrums related to pricing and promotions across our portfolio of network, wireless and emerging technology services. Your responsibilities will include strategic development, planning and management of creative through execution with the process working back with the IMT to ensure flawless pull through by SME owners. The position will require project leadership management for the consistent execution of campaigns across disciplines including media, social, .com, retail, PR, and training.

You will be responsible for the leadership of a work group and/or development of broad programs or projects in support of organizational or area strategies; communicates and translates functional/operational goals into team goals; manages implementation of policies and procedures; typically reports to a (Director/Executive Director). Manages through professionals and/or supervisors, the activities of a section or department. Responsible for results in terms of costs, methods & employees. Receives broad guidance and is accountable for project or program results. Exercises considerable judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Work is generally accomplished without considerable direction. Develops resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity. Analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Specifically, we are looking for a person to:

  • Lead the development and execution of world class brand and retail creative in new and different ways, inclusive of both traditional and digital creative.
  • Drive communications strategy development based on insights that are grounded in consumer and competitive intelligence.
  • Participate and be the voice that represents the marcom discipline in a cross functional process that drives innovation and culture shaping ideas attached to our brand.
  • Bring fresh insights and new creative development approaches to the table to create promotions that are focused in the digital spectrum.
  • Focus efforts in creating demand across the entire product portfolio of traditional and new products, services and accessories in the area of network services, wireless services & emerging technologies.
  • Create work that drives conversation about the brand within the network pillar.
  • Ensure brand consistency internally and in the marketplace.
  • Increase brand and product penetration across the target segments.
  • Manage the creative vision for world class break-through advertising that leverages a unified strategy for a fully integrated execution across the digital spectrum.
  • Provide out of the box and “big idea” thinking that helps to drive marketing differentiation within the industry.    
  • Manage the creative, production and execution process for advertising materials in the digital spectrum by working effectively with external agencies.
  • Develop strong partnerships with the business units and across the internal Marketing organization to ensure project timelines and deliverables are completed and evaluated.
  • Work directly with Verizon legal to secure legal approval on all advertising materials and communicate any feedback to advertising agencies and internal teams.
  • Manage production budgets for all advertising executions and ensure billing and accrual accuracy with internal finance team and advertising agencies.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape to constantly stay abreast of new developments and marketing opportunities.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Communications or Marketing or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in marketing or related communications field.

Even better if you have:

  • Master's degree.
  • Six or more years of experience in marketing or related communications field.
  • Six or more years of wireless experience and understanding of wireless industry trends and key business drivers.
  • Six or more years of experience in digital, media and communications planning.
  • Six or more years of experience in segmentation communications planning.
  • Written and verbal fluency in Spanish.
  • Strong expertise and established success in creating and increasing demand for a portfolio of products and services.
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal, presentation, and written communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven management experience with ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Proven development and delivery of executive communications via Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability at engaging and influencing large teams and functional leaders.
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, complete important time sensitive tasks, adapt quickly to last minute changes and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and work on multiple assignments with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to bring teams with differing opinions to a common place by identifying common ground and negotiation.
  • Experience working with multi-cultural advertising.
  • Working knowledge of the creative production process (TV, Radio, Print, Digital, OOH).
  • Advertising agency experience or experience managing an agency.
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time.
