What you’ll be doing...

The Manager of Reporting & Analysis,as a member of the Business Excellence team plays a vital role with key responsibilities in the timely preparation of in-depth analysis, internal documents, and providing insights and other functions critical to the management and reporting processes in regard to project performance and financial/operational information for internal management reporting. The Manager of Reporting & Analysis works closely with other departments, business transformation and project teams acting as a key liaison with the Organization’s senior management team.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Provides all aspects of financial reporting and operational analysis to support the Business Excellence function. This includes the development of performance reporting and ad-hoc analysis and provides business insight for inclusion in business performance reviews.
  • Provides guidance and governance working with the managers in the Business Transformation teams in Wireline, Wireless and Network &Technology to ensure consistency in tracking and reporting of initiatives and related benefits.
  • Functional expert in business knowledge to provide strategic guidance and insights to apply key business analysis, metrics and operational variables during the reporting & analysis process; delivers associated key assumptions, conclusions, risks, opportunities, and recommendations to management.
  • Assesses the impact of strategic financial decisions to business managers, and/or customers and presents recommendations to executive management.
  • Accountable for driving the delivery of resolutions and insights to complex business performance issues and work with various teams to define and execute action plans.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on profitability/costing analysis.
  • Provides reporting & analysis support to the Zero Based Budgeting effort.
  • Provides ad-hoc, one-off and non-routine requests for executives.
  • Directs special projects, ad-hoc analysis, and report template solutions in coordination with Business Excellence PMO team.
  • Identifies and drives improvement opportunities in the area.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent preferred.
  • Six or moreyears of directly related experience with a strong management background.

Even better if you have:

  • Familiar with FASB and SEC requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, tax reporting and accounting practices. Basic knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA) preferred.
  • Advanced understanding and business acumen for financial reporting and analysis, including utilizing financial statements and deep-dive analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of report query and design.
  • Strong ability to coach and develop other members of the team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint; attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management.
  • Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency in Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning and Hyperion Strategic Finance preferred.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
