What you’ll be doing...

The Verizon Experience Team is a new internal group tasked with evolving the customer experience across all channels and touchpoints through the design and implementation of innovative products and services that customers love. Based in Irving, TX, our team focuses on JavaScript as our core technology. We utilize React.js, Node.js, GraphQL, and the extended JavaScript ecosystem to build web apps, mobile apps, and open source software. We have authored a UI component library that is used internally across various channels to bring consistency in shaping the future of the customer experience.

As a great JavaScript developer who’s proficient in React.js, your primary focus will be on developing user interface components and implementing those following well-known React.js workflows. You will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust, accessible, and tested. You will collaborate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure.

  • Play a key role in the continued development and maintenance of our internal Mono-repo UI Library written in React using Styled Components, Storybook, and tested using Jest and React-Testing Library.
  • Collaborate with API teams and UI Designers to build production quality user-interfaces.
  • Take a design flow (high fidelity wireframes) in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Zeplin, InVision, or Sketch format and translate them into code while being able to collaborate with a back-end developer to debug an API through Postman.
  • Leverage your excellent verbal and written communication skills to work with developers and business partners across multiple departments, offshore teams, UX Designers, back-end developers and various project managers.
  • Author clear, precise, and easy to consume documentation with regards to code and team standards.
  • Jump in and out of projects with relative ease, acting as a front-end web consultant, a UI Engineer/Developer, or as both.
  • Be the sole person on the project responsible for decisions on all aspects of front-end web technology.
  • Develop new user-facing features using React.js
  • Architect front-end UI interacting with REST or GraphQL web services.
  • Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use.
