What you’ll be doing...

  • Protecting and safeguarding Verizon’s revenue, property and personnel through management of the Verizon’s 24/7 Monitoring Center.
  • Managing, guiding and motivating a 24/7 security staff in a high-paced, extremely sensitive security center with a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Making critical decisions based on current data, past experience and business rules.
  • Designing, supporting, maintaining and managing the company’s physical security CRAS, Intrusion and CCTV systems.
  • Maintaining physical security systems including monitoring of edge devices and alarms.
  • Training personal in Victor Unified Monitoring and defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

What we’re looking for...

The Monitoring Center Specialist requires a broad range of skills within a disciplined area to effectively perform routine and /or complex assignments; demands knowledge to establish procedures, policies and practices.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree of four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience working in a security operations center.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work rotating and non-traditional tours (evenings, overnight, weekends, holidays, etc.)
  • Ability to manage a 24/7 high-paced, extremely sensitive security monitoring center while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.

Even better if you have:

  • Experience with access control systems (administration & operator level).
  • Experience with closed circuit television (CCTV) systems (operation & maintenance).
  • Experience with intrusion detection systems (operation & maintenance).
  • Formally trained in Networking Fundamentals and Troubleshooting.
  • CCure Certification.
  • Ability to administer and maintain any electronic security system.
  • Ability to take charge in an emergency situation, including be well versed in crisis management skills.
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills along with statistical and data analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, as well as analytical and problem solving skills.
