  • Leading, motivating and training the team to be effective in their roles.
  • Managing a team of supervisors and analysts who perform reconciliations of both general ledger accounts and various sub ledger systems.
  • Keeping a pulse on your operations to ensure that problems are resolved in a timely manner and are escalated before aging occurs.
  • Coordinating across the organization to create awareness of customer service issues and processes improvement opportunities.
  • Acting as a key point of contact and interface to the accounting team to identify anomalies and issues associated with payment activity across the business.
  • Managing and developing your processes to support new product and service offerings.
  • Managing your SOX Processes and Controls.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll enjoy detailed accounting work and developing others to perform at a high level. But you’ll also be driven by your impact on the bigger organizational picture in establishing strong financial and reconciliation processes and systems for our large, complex business.

You’ll need to have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business.
  • Strong management background with proven management skills.
  • An understanding of balancing, reconciliation and auditing principles.
  • An understanding of Verizon's billing systems and how AR is managed within the billing systems.
  • Experience in the payment industry.
  • Experience with accounting systems and applications including SAP, PeopleSoft.
  • Strong understanding of payment processes and controls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint; strong written and oral communications skills.
