In support of our world leading position in Cyber Security, we have recently launched a new service, the Computer Emergency Response Team (CSIRT).

Verizon’s newly offered service will constitute of a designated CSIRT regional lead position. The regional lead will work as a liaison between different accounts on the region and the other CSIRT regions and has responsibility to keep good relationship to different key stakeholders.

  • Support CSIRT presales and grow CSIRT business in the region.
  • Oversee the status of each account in your region to retain and grow business within existing engagements.
  • Make critical decisions in optimize offering structure, pricing, team building and growth strategies.
  • Drive an enterprise-wide understanding of CSIRT vision, roadmap and best practices.
  • Develop and improve service offerings, including service offering artifact, delivery methodologies and oversight governance structure.
  • Expertly forecasts strategic movements of key and emerging competitors to ensure that Verizon maintains its position as an industry leader.
  • Ensure there are resources available for each account.
  • Ensure the communication and information exchange is fluent between accounts and regions.
  • Ensure expectations of customers are met in your region.
  • Serve as an escalation point for customers.
  • Accountable for arranging “get together calls” once a month.
  • Establish CSIRT services to new accounts.
  • Contribute to containment decisions of critical incidents and facilitate decision making by other parties using established escalation process.
  • Coordinate forensics and law enforcement activities with officials if necessary.
  • Verify the effectiveness of CSIRT work in your account.
    • Analyze the incident response effort, with feedback from Customer and third parties. Identify and analyze any mistakes as well as good decisions done during response process.
    • Use the results of the analysis as an input for improvements, such as incident response.
    • Help develop metrics to illustrate risk reduction over time.
  • SPOC in case of CSIRT escalations.
  • Follow and keep good relationship to other services within Verizon.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in security operations, risk management, operational management, and/or consultant management.
  • Experience managing Security or Incident Response projects.
  • Knowledge of Network and Web Application vulnerability assessments.
  • Experience in Security Operation Centre (SOC) processes.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, plus five or more years of experience in a dedicated security position.
  • Ten or more years of experience in security operations, risk management, operational management, and/or consultant management.
  • Ten or more years of demonstrable experience managing Security or Incident Response projects.
  • CSIRT Team experience.
  • Experience on how to structure and operate an efficient Incident Response process.
  • SIEM (SPLUNK) and log analytics skills.
  • SANS or other Security certifications, such as GCIA, GCIH, GREM, GPEN, CEH.
  • CISSP Certification and / or CISM Certification.
  • ITIL Foundations training / certification.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Knowledge of ISO 27001 requirements.
  • Knowledge of common types of malware, their infection vectors, how identify them using network and host based tools, how to eradicate them and verify the success of eradication efforts.
  • Knowledge of current security threats and vulnerabilities, how to detect and mitigate them, ability to understand their possible consequences on the customer’s environment.
  • Understanding of modern technologies used to detect malware and vulnerabilities and protect assets.
  • Understanding of modern network and cloud technologies.
  • Demonstrated communication skills and ability to engage with customers at both technical and executive levels.
  • Demonstrated clear and concise written and verbal communication, including the ability to produce professional-level documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and security analytics skills; ability to identify gaps in processes and recommend improvements for mitigation.
  • Strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to customer issues.
  • Ability to excel in dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Expertise in the field of security incident response.
  • Strong coordination, communication and collaborations skills as well as a good technical and architectural understanding.
