What you’ll be doing...

We innovate constantly to help the biggest names in business work quicker and smarter and we apply the same vision and focus to the way we do business. You’ll be supervising a team of accountants to make sure that information relating to cash receipts, expense accruals and other activities is accurate. Your role is critical in managing our accounting systems and the financial health of our business today and in the future.

This position is located within the Remittance Processing Center in Cranford NJ, responsible for overseeing the extraction, processing and posting of paper checks for both landline and wireless payments. The start time will be 5:00 am Mon – Fri but floating is required for coverage of other supervisors as well when needed, flexibility is critical. The tour runs from 5:00 am to 2:00 pm, with an hour for lunch. The supervisors are required to be in rotation to work every third Saturday- start time 4:00 am, *Saturdays are on hold as of Jan. 5th, 2019 for a three month trial period, they may return to the schedule April 6th, 2019.In addition, you will be accountable for the day to day leadership, development and engagement of Union employees in the attainment of targeted operational goals, while providing a positive, respectful and upbeat professional work environment. Also, you will be maintaining a working relationship with external vendors that service our software and equipment. Other activities include:

  • Supervising your team in reconciling both general ledger accounts and sub ledger systems.
  • Ensuring the proper research and timely resolution of variances by working with appropriate internal and external parties.
  • Reviewing and approving all journal entries and interfaces completed by your team.
  • Assisting with the implementation and accounting of various business initiatives.
  • Leading, motivating and training your team to be effective in their roles.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Supervisory, experience.
  • Willingness to report to work at 5:00 am & 4:00 am when covering for another supervisor M-F, or Saturdays if needed.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience supervising Union employees.
  • Experience in the payment industry.
  • Proven ability to motivate a team to meet or exceed performance objectives.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal/written communication.
  • Strong team leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiently in Excel, Word & Google drive and docs.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively solve complex problems by leading critical corrective action and planning.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions.
  • Flexibility and the ability to work with peers on a daily basis to make sure the operation runs smoothly.
