What you’ll be doing...

As our Access Engineer you will be responsible for a number of duties:

  • NNI Implementation will include all duties necessary to order and turn up switched Ethernet NNIs to our vendors. Determine the physical path of the circuit, enter internal orders, coordinate offnet pieces with the Lease Group, initiate internal builds (CCRs) and internal backbone transport pieces (DRTs), initiate and send ASRs, build the circuit in provisioning databases, support Install and Testing work as necessary, verify that it is built into SNM and ensure it loads into Cameo, and complete orders and the SharePoint record when appropriate. You will also be responsible for processing disconnects on 1G NNIs when grooms have clear all remaining traffic.
  • Offnet High Bandwidth Inquiries require you to poll our vendors to see who can support a customer requirement and at what price. This will enable us to provide appropriate instructions should the order go firm. This includes any ordering codes (NC/NCI), ICSC codes, and interconnect points along the path.
  • TDM CDRs require you to provide appropriate ordering instructions so Service Delivery will be able to correctly place ASRs with the most optimal vendor and at the best price and with the correct codes.
  • Respond to DS1 override requests when enough optimal capacity is not available in Cameo to support the customer requirement. This may involve coordinating with Carrier Management to ensure all options have been considered to provide the best solution.
  • Respond to WFM fallout when VRD orders have issues preventing successful pathing.
  • Contribute to the corporate telco savings objective.
