What you’ll be doing...

Your role is to ensure Verizon’s success with RF Exposure compliance as we deploy new technologies to serve our customers. The Principal Engineer of Radio Frequency Exposure (RFE) Engineer partners with other team members as a SME to support the wireless network submarkets with RFE compliance requirements and provide guidance to them on a daily basis. Training of submarket teams in an online and public forum is critical to communicate compliance and involvement/attendance at IEEE ICES related standards meetings may be required. You must apply critical thinking and analysis for regulatory policy decisions on RFE related matters and develop any guidance or processes necessary to ensure compliance and any Federal reporting requirements are met. You will maintain engagement with other Verizon Wireless Regulatory and HQ groups—Regulatory Auditing, Environmental Health & Safety Teams, Maintenance Engineering, Network Planning, and Spectrum Strategy—and our legal teams in support of RFE related NPRM’s, Orders, and inquiries from the FCC.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of PC and software applications including Windows and MS Office.
  • Experience in facilitating meetings and composing presentations.
  • Proficiency in RF and Regulatory with knowledge of FCC RF Emission/RF Safety related rules and regulations.

Even better to have:

  • Master’s degree in engineering accompanied by an MBA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or military equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of FCC Enforcement Bureau procedures.
  • Knowledge of Existing & Emerging Technologies. Understand network evolution and how Regulatory applies to technology.
  • Familiarity with RFE tools (RoofView, RoofMaster, RFE CAT, etc.).
  • Understanding of Enforcement Bureau procedures.
  • Experience in vendor management.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills for inter-organizational communications.
  • Excellent problem solving abilities along with organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to perform with general guidance and explore creative and innovative ways of achieving the department’s goals.
  • Experience making independent decisions based on policies, practices and project requirements.
  • Ability to perform project management activities and maintain project trackers
  • Develop resolutions to complex problems that require the use of creativity and makes decisions that impact projects and staff members.
