What you’ll be doing...

Verizon Enterprise Solutions offers Network Engineering (NE) as a premium architecture and engineering service to augment traditional Managed Network Services (MNS) offerings. As part of this service, Network Engineers are designated to provide overall engineering oversight of the customer's managed network. The Network Engineer understands the customer's internetworking environment and is the customer's technical advisor for current and future technology deployment and adoption. The Network Engineer utilizes consistent and sound engineering principles and industry best practices allowing the customer to rely on them for technical expertise in the implementation and evolution of their architecture.

  • Responsible for effectively directing and managing client relationships and Verizon workforce & processes in Network Engineering ecosystem.
  • Responsible for business outcomes related to delivery of client solutions, organizational dynamics, metrics and reporting, employee development, and related functions.
  • Leadership of multiple teams in support of customer objectives as delivered by Network Engineering; includes responsibility/accountability for presentations and demonstrations related to technology, process, or client solutions.
  • Ownership of review growth and margin improvement, identification, development, and implementation of improvements to the client (and Verizon) environment to increase quality, speed, and efficiency of teams.
  • Provide change leadership and encourage and nurture change within broader Engineering practice and ecosystem.
  • Communicate and translate Verizon objectives into functional/operational goals; manage implementation of policies & procedures.
  • Ensure compliance from teams on business outcomes, including inspecting and validating management administration tasks such as time management and productivity measurement, personnel development, etc.
  • Grow and develop leaders within the business for future responsibilities. Directly and proactively lead multiple teams of highly technical, distributed Engineers; provide support/review and escalations.
  • Monitor, optimize and report on resource and workforce management.
  • Define and drive relationships with Engineering/Planning, IT, Product Development, and various Verizon and external delivery and support teams to manage the design and implementation of client projects.
  • Manage business expense and revenue to ensure profitability.
  • Responsible for the protection of Verizon customer proprietary network information and Verizon information assets.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Five or more years of experience managing highly technical teams, or equivalent leadership experience.
  • Advanced skills related to complex work in a specific functional area and general knowledge of other areas that aids understanding of networking technologies or technical issues.
  • Requires independent thinking; demands full use and application of principles, theories, concepts and technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of business processes (e.g. ITIL, Project Management) and the impact thereof on the technical environment.
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong leadership and team-building capabilities through experience in leading teams or projects to successfully achieve measurable results.
  • Experience or specific skills related to: technology adoption, software development, business process optimization and process automation, change management, etc.
