What you’ll be doing...

The Corporate Development Director will be a key member of Verizon’s M&A team, responsible for all aspects of the company’s inorganic strategy. The individual will play an integral role leading the transaction and integration process. Responsibilities include identifying potential acquisitions, partnerships and investments that align with strategic initiatives. Targets will span a broad range of disciplines within telecom, media and technology. Companies will vary in size from small and private VC backed to multibillion dollar market cap enterprises. This role is ideal for an M&A professional with demonstrated experience executing transactions and a strong interest in media and technology.

Responsibilities include:

  • Investigate and evaluate acquisitions, divestitures, licensing opportunities, and strategic alliances.
  • Research and analyze diverse industries and verticals, identifying trends and strategic areas of interest for Verizon business unit portfolio.
  • Communicate with Senior Leadership to assess and prioritize transactions to best align with business strategy and growth plans.
  • Perform detailed financial analysis; develop comprehensive pro forma financial models and valuation analysis in support of potential transactions.
  • Manage cross-functional diligence teams to support the pre-acquisition due diligence activities and assist in post-acquisition integration transition.
  • Develop recommendations for senior management review and board meetings.

What we’re looking for...

  • 10+ years’ work experience in Corporate Development, Venture Capital, Investment Banking, Management Consulting or substantially equivalent experience.
  • MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Experience engaging externally with partners, financial advisors, and executive-level management.
  • Robust financial modeling skills and the ability to perform and review quantitative analysis with relative autonomy.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting to and working directly with senior management.
  • Proven leadership and highly developed communication skills
  • Strong self-initiative – ability to deal with high degree of ambiguity and drive clarity in key areas.
  • Manage a team of direct and indirect resources to achieve organizational goals.
