What you’ll be doing...

The Central Office Operations Supervisor will be responsible for supervision of a team of central office technicians as well as specific projects pertaining to our Network Reliability functions. The candidate will have responsibility for a large geographic area of central office territories in Westchester, Rockland, Hudson Valley areas and will be required to travel between various locations.

  • Direct supervision of a team of unionized employees.
  • Perform central office equipment maintenance, repair, and upgrade including DC/AC power and HVAC systems.
  • Handle special projects such as SS7/E911 diversity.
  • Meet with and manage vendor relationships.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Eligibility to hold a DOT medical certificate and commercial driver’s license class A or B with Hazmat and air brakes endorsement.

Even better if you have:

  • An electrical engineering or similar degree.
  • Licensed electrician.
  • Experience supervising employees and large projects.
  • Knowledge and experience of commercial power systems (AC/DC), battery plants, rectifiers, UPS, inverters and backup power generation plants up to 2MWis.
  • Good understanding of all central office networks.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills to drive a positive culture through coaching and communication.
  • Experience with Verizon internal systems (i.e. vRepair, OASIS, MASTARS).
  • Experience managing complex processes and driving results.
