FP&A Corporate and Business Unit Team

The Business Unit facing positions offer opportunities to drive better business partnering and insights, while growing your FP&A leadership and interpersonal skills. The Customer service FP&A team is the finance business partner to the Customer Service function in Verizon Wireless. We provide financial analysis and decision support to enable the Customer Service vision and strategy across all consumer customers. You’ll become involved in, but not limited to, strategy and segmentation, contact mix allocation decisions and routing optimization. You will have an impact on customer experience across all channels by building business cases and supporting analysis to enable decisions.

  • Ownership of cost per call (CPC) business cases related to contact allocation, routing and segmentation.
  • Lead the build of the cost per call analysis, which includes establishing relationships with business partners, analyzing call data and sizing up the financial impact of possible decisions.
  • Leverage the insights of the CPC framework to drive analysis and recommendations related to call volume shifts and allocation as well as monthly reporting & updates, ad hoc analytics & presenting findings to senior leadership.
  • Create the analytical framework around other charges and credits (OCC) tracking, analysis and reporting to support the targets.
  • Take ownership of the underlying assumptions of both OCC and CPC models and working with business partners on updates.
  • Partner with the business to budget, forecast and report on critical areas of spend such as National Events, Recognizing You, Travel & Events, OCCs, Telecom etc.
  • Establish relationships with the business partners, communicate effectively with stakeholders.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with knowledge of Excel.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • Ability to analyze large sets of data using Excel, Tableau or other analytical software.
  • Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry in an analytical finance role.
  • A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA).
  • Understanding of financial planning, reporting & analysis, and costing/profitability methodologies and processes.
  • Knowledge of common business and cost drivers, financial statement analysis, and deep-dive analysis.
  • Curiosity to explore data from different angles, problem solve and think critically through complex solutions.
  • SQL knowledge and application.
  • Familiarity with the preparation of General Ledgers, Basic Knowledge of FASB requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Proficiency in Essbase, PMR, Smart View.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to focus on the details.
