What you’ll be doing...

The Global ClearanceManager will be responsible for managing a team of analysts who facilitate reviews of global service requiring global clearance, on behalf of all Verizon business units. He/she will supervise the processing of global clearancerequests from the inception of a project through completion of the clearances, providing guidance to the clearance analysts and business clients and working directly with stakeholders. He/she will also be responsible for ongoing improvement of the clearance process in collaboration with relevant organizations and stakeholders.

The end to end global clearance process is a complex, project specific assessment of information and operational risk, and the actions required to obtain authorization for the proposed outsourced (onshore or offshore) work. The Clearance Manager must develop and manage a high performing team that facilitates processing of global service requests in support of Verizon’sinitiatives.

Clearance Processing:

Lead the clearance analysts asthey work with Verizon business units in the global clearance process from moving work, driving participating clients and stakeholders to meet timelines. You’ll also provide guidance in all aspects and stages of global clearance:

  • Facilitate initial assessment of requests, coordinating with requestors and stakeholders to determine the appropriate type of clearance.
  • Develop individualized clearance strategy as needed for complex requests such as mergers, acquisitions, and call centers.
  • Partner with domestic and international attorneys to review and evaluate clearance requests and such and ensure that they comply with country regulations and legal requirements.
  • Interpret complex global clearance policies and rules and apply to individual clearances in creative and practical ways to facilitate approval and minimize exception requests.
  • Ensure that assigned business personnel understand the role of the business unit in creating clearance requests and shepherding these through the approval process.
  • Review progress with analysts on a regular basis, discussing individual clearances and determining required actions.

Tracking and reporting

  • Monitor analyst progress on all clearance work, identify issues and coordinate with appropriate personnel to facilitate resolution and keep global clearances on track.
  • Review clearance statistics, balance the team's workload, and provide reports to management as required.

Training and education

  • Create training materials and conduct training sessions as required for personnel in business units and in partner organizations.
  • Develop the clearance analyst team to continually increase their knowledge of relevant subject matter such as Verizon systems and products, technology, industry trends and security threats.
  • Develop clearance POCs within business organizations to function as internal specialists who prioritize, coordinate, and prepare requests being submitted to the clearance process.

Process improvement

  • Drive the process of continually improving the global clearance development, approval, and record-keeping methodologies while also evolving these to support new business needs.
  • Formulate creative solutions as appropriate in accordance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, legal guidelines and applying best practices.
  • Manage creation of templates, tools, and process materials to drive accuracy and standardization.

Compliance

  • Use lessons learned from the compliance aspect of the global clearance process to drive down the incidence of non-compliance over time.
  • Instruct global clearance owners on the process for periodic self-assessment and verification of ongoing compliance with the parameters and conditions of their specific global clearances.

This position is directly attributable to compliance with Verizon’s CPS/CPI-3010 Global Clearance, CPS/CPI-810 Information Security, and CPS/CPI-306 Global Sensitive Account Management corporate policies, other relevant corporate policies, contractual obligations, and government regulations.

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Minimum 4 years project planning and project management experience specific to Verizon products and services
  • Experience in various lines of business that support Verizon’s end to tend business process
