What you’ll be doing...

This position is responsible for leading cross-functional internal teams, creative agencies and vendors in the strategic planning and project implementation of all direct, indirect and national retail store merchandising. The successful manager works individually and with a team, planning projects, recommending action, estimating cost; managing projects to completion – within budget. Leads and gains alignment with cross-functional project teams including Retail Experience, Merchandising, National Distribution Fulfillment, and Sales Operations. Establishes metrics / goals for major production initiatives.

Print Production Project Management:

Project Manager responsible for planning and managing print production projects for our VZ Direct, Indirect, and National Retail locations.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Oversee planning and development of all Verizon Wireless visual merchandising materials
  • Align and integrate multiple print projects and master schedules to promote launch consolidation and sku reduction
  • Planning necessary project details within Project management tool (Workfront), including project schedule, vendor assignments, print specifications and print quantities
  • Maintain accurate records including but not limited to schedules and project deliverables.
  • Track all aspects of project progress including but not limited to: production schedules, creative kickoff & file release, printer proof tracking & approvals, and delivery tracking to designated locations. Liaison with internal partners during this process including Retail Experience & Merchandising team managers, external agency partners, print vendors and distribution / fulfillment teams.

Quality and Innovation

  • Manage supplier quality control process; supplier review and evaluation
  • Oversee Supplier Minority Certification Program
  • Support the development of new design concepts for visual merchandising displays
  • Ensure structural design integrity collaboratively with Retail Experience and Store Merchandising teams
  • Develop and execute internal and external production policies, procedures, standards, and protocols
  • Research / review / recommend new technologies, suppliers and materials based on insight and industry trends
  • Vendor management ensuring integrity, compliance, timeliness of project completion, and quality control.

Life Cycle Management:

  • Responsible for warehouse inventory
  • Direct all functions relating to inventory and supply chain management
  • Advise on end of life strategy / destruction of obsolete materials

Workfront Administrator:

  • Develop and maintain project templates
  • Leverage reporting, benchmarking, and industry trends to drive costs out of the business
  • Develop and enhance automation tools, participate on weekly meetings, driving process improvements

Communication & Participation:

Daily meeting participation is required to ensure real-time knowledge of current projects (which will directly impact any project management and support). Will require leading certain conference calls to align with internal/external partners.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Project planning, Project management or supply chain logistics experience.

  • Proven strong budget management skills.
  • Demonstrated superior analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Superior sense of the wireless telecommunications business.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Expert MS Excel skills as well as MS Word, PowerPoint.
  • Superior project management skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong collaborative competence managing Verizon Wireless colleagues at various levels of the organization, supporting multiple constituents and internal clients.
  • Proven strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highest possible sense of urgency; proactive and flexible.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, under compressed schedules, in environment of constant change.
